That’s my long-tailed t*t print finished! Really pleased how it has turned out and feel I’m making good progress with wood engraving. I aimed for an edition of 30 but ended up with 23. Some were misaligned, under/over printed, and my cat destroyed two by jumping on them! #printmaking #woodengraving

Still focusing on wood engraving, I’m currently working on a five layer reduction print of a long tailed t*t. Just the final layer left to go now.

‘Birth of the Pollywogs’ is now dry and ready to hop off! This is an original wood engraving of a frog with her frogspawn and tadpoles - or pollywogs as they are also known. #printmaking #woodengraving #frogspawn #naturelover

Ready to print! #woodengraving #printmaking #frogspawn

I’m really enjoying wood engraving just now. This is my latest WIP, just in time for the frogs laying there spawn! #woodengraving #printmaking

More bird photography! I am working on some new prints but nothing quite ready to share yet… This time we have a Dunnock, black bird, and wren! #birdphotography

“One should not overlook the Sparrow” Practicing with my big lens on the sparrows in the garden. Think I might make a print based on one of these. #birdphotography #sparrow

I’m a bit rubbish keeping up with more than one social media account! But just realised I never shared my finished toad wood engraving here, so here he is, I hope you like him! #printmaking #woodengraving #toad #wildlifeart

I know some printmakers aren’t keen on ‘Giclée’ (digital) prints/reproductions, which I can understand. They can cause confusion as sometimes people don’t know the difference between these digital prints and handmade traditional prints (such as lino prints).

A change from my usual macro! Practicing with my zoom on birds in the garden. I’m still getting used to hand-holding a heavier lens so relying on high shutter speeds & dxo to de-noise. But pleased overall. OM1 mark II M zuiko 100-400mm lens DXO photolab and lightroom #birdphotography #omsystems

(Hope I’m doing this right!) Art friends - QRP with your artwork and share what other passions/jobs/hobbies you have! I work as a uni lecturer in medical art and my other hobbies & interests include photography, computer games, gardening, and lucid dreaming!

And he’s finished! All ready for a test print:) I’m really loving wood engraving at the moment- just ordered some new blocks and tools and keen to keep learning! #woodengraving #printmaking #toad

I’m working on a new wood engraving based on a photo of mine. I’m really liking being able to use my own photos as reference - it feels nice to combine my photography and art. #printmaking #toad #woodengraving

My latest print ‘By the Light of the Moon’ is now dry and ready to fly away to new homes:) #woodengraving #printmaking #bat

There’s not many bugs around to feed my macro photography habit in January, in Scotland. But there are these critters - Springtails! About 1mm long at the most, this one was found skating on the surface of my dog’s water bowl! #macrophotography #macro #photography #wildlifephotography

As I’m new on here I thought it might be time for a proper introduction! I’m Caroline Erolin, a printmaker working out of my home studio in the Scottish countryside. I’m inspired by nature, my love of animals, and my career as a lecturer in medical art. #artist #printmaker

Well Bluesky seems very promising so far. Good engagement and a warm welcome. I’m looking forward to meeting fellow artists and art lovers (nature lovers too) on here:) Here my latest print I’m working on, a wood engraving of a long eared bat and phases of the moon. #printmaking #woodengraving

Over on IG have two accounts, one for printmaking and another for macro photography. Here I’m going to share both (although focusing mostly on print/art) because to me it’s a part of the same wider interest - i.e. a love of the natural world and trying to capture this in images. #macrophotography

Hi, I’m Caroline Erolin and this is my first Bluesky post! I’m an artist specialising in printmaking based in Scotland. Follow me to see handmade traditional prints and insights into my processes. My first image here is probably my most popular linocut print entitled ‘Spirit Hunter’. #linocut
