🇬🇧 and 🇫🇷 are crucial in any scenario where a NATO country puts boots on the ground. They're the tripwire that lends credence to the MAD principle, should 🇷🇺 decide to use nukes.

Also: It requires Russian levels of self-delusion to argue that stealing the very Easternmost parts of 🇺🇦 is necessary to protect against NATO aggression, while 🇷🇺 borders with mainland NATO in the West are left virtually undefended. Giving up 🇺🇦 land only has bad consequences.

There is no scenario in which using nukes doesn't end spectacularly unwell for Russia. There are multiple ways in which we can escalate without changing that calculus.
