Joyous endweek, sapient observers! Today we have a fresh solarpunk original for you, "After the Rain" by @cornellwriter.bsky.social, and we promise it has nothing to do with those punks who keep spray-painting family might/coulds on our solar panels. Enjoy!

Felicitous endweek, sapient observers! While we're busy keeping the new editor from licking the walls, pleas enjoy a Flashback Friday: "The Malcontent" by Serah Eley, coming at you from nineteen years ago!

Farewell, @premeemohamed.com, on whatever new adventures you may find yourself on! The trilobites have laid claim to your old lab, so don't worry about a thing! Now then, we just need to take this intruder we found skulking around to the airlock for a quick jettison, and-- what the intruder's WHAT

Turning on the “vote for Escape Pod” beacon as we zoom through space

Well met, survivors! This endweek Escape Pod is joyed to bring you a fresh original: "Holding Patterns" by @jenniferhudak.bsky.social! Please enjoy. And if you were looking for fresh orignal instead, the moose are on E Deck.

Once again, observers gifted and/or cursed with sapience, your patience is rewarded: part 2 of "In the Palace of Science" by @chriscampbell.bsky.social is now available for your attention!

Congratulations to all of this year's Hugo finalists! Let's set off some celebratory klaxons, wait, no, NOT THOSE--

Merry endweek, sapients! This time we have for you part 1 of 2 of "In the Palace of Science", by @chriscampbell.bsky.social. An added benefit: you can sing the title to the tune of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida!" 🎵🎵🎵

Greetings, sapients! It's not only an endweek but an endmonth, and this time for you we have a fresh Original: "Lyra, From Many Angles" by Hiron Ennes. Go ahead, experience it!

Merry equinox, sapients and assorted! The days are getting longer or shorter, but the sunrise always matters: most particularly "The Interdimensional Rift at the Lucky Sunrise Bingo Palace" by Ryan Cole, this week's Escape Pod Original!

To celebrate the 20th anniversary, I’ll be your guide through this year’s Flashback Fridays. We’re doing some of the big numbers from the best 1000(!) episodes and I’m really excited:)

It's always Friday somewhere, and whether or not it's Friday where you are please enjoy this week's Flashback Friday: "Imperial" by Jonathan Sullivan, which was the very story that launched Escape Pod twenty years ago! And to think of all the batteries we haven't replaced since then...

Many congratulations to Escape Pod's thoroughly accomplished assistant editor @premeemohamed.com, and congratulations to all the finalists for another most triumphant and non-heinous year of stories!

My story about an aging cyberpunk adapting to a solarpunk world is now up at @escapepod.org! It originally appeared in @press-android.bsky.social's Fighting for the Future anthology. You can read it or listen to it at escapepod.org/2025/03/06/e...

The order to abandon ship has been officially rescinded, so things are working out pretty well, considering! "The Robot Whisperer" by Holly Schofield is now available for your experience, and if you encounter a robot with a malfunctioning voicebox, please report it to maintenance.

Next instalment in the Towards the Fjords series coming next week: if you enjoyed Joy (recently featured on the @escapepod.org podcast) then keep your eyes on interzone.digital/towards-the-...

Listen to it! It's a really REALLY good one.

Here in the twilight of the month, and of those decks where the lights need to be fixed, it's only appropriate that this endweek's story is "Twilight" by Lilly Harper, an Escape Pod original. Check it out!

So today I was the story on the @escapepod.org podcast: the story of Joy, surviving as best she can after the collapse of the United Kingdom. escapepod.org/2025/02/20/e...

Merry endweek, all you survivors of entropy! This week we've got something that is in shorter supply than it should be: "Joy" by @dalesmithonline.com. Experience it and you won't regret it.

Since people have been asking, it's normal for the antimatter containment system to make that noise. Also, here's a fresh distraction from it: "Peace by Piece" by @erincairns.bsky.social, an Escape Pod original!

If you like: 🤖big robots who just want to help people 🔥post-apoc focused on community building 🦾the power of FRIENDSHIP 🐶a very good doggo You should check out "Steadyboi After the Apocalypse" now on @escapepod.org ! :D escapepod.org/2025/02/06/e...

As tempting as the jolly, candy-like emergency depressurization button may be, please don't press it; instead, press the button that launches you into this week's story, "Steadyboi After the Apocalypse" by @mercwolfmoor.bsky.social! That'll be better for everyone, especially the maintenance staff.

As much as we'd like to offer you a nice egg in this trying time, our food synthesizers are only outputting eggshells filled with mustard. So instead please enjoy this week's Escape Pod original, "Oak Hill Lane" by @alasdairstuart.com!

Good news, everyone: the life support systems have been fixed, so you can now safely leave your emergency shelters, though if you're comfortable in there you're welcome to stay. Also, Part 2 of "Reflected in Mirrored Skies" by Deborah L. Davitt is now available!

There's change in the air, wholly unrelated to malfunctions in the life support systems, so why not mark this endweek with the first part of a two-parter? Experience "Reflected in Mirrored Skies" by Deborah L. Davitt for half an hour!

Literally the reason @escapepod.org was started twenty years ago and one of EAF’s core missions. You’re never late to art you love!

Welcome to another endweek, sapients! This Flashback Friday we take you back to 2003 with "Don Ysidro" by Bruce Holland Rogers, and offer a completely true fact: 2003 is exactly as far away as 2047.

Giant shout-out to our own @ahawkwrites.bsky.social! Her #shortstory Once Abandoned dropped on @escapepod.org epod.org last week with narrator @behravesh.bsky.social. Looking for an editor who can help you build immersive worlds like this one? A.P. has openings. #writingcommunity #author #fantasy

Welcome to a new year on one particular calendar, sapient observers! To start off 2025, we have an original for you: "Once Abandoned" by @ahawkwrites.bsky.social. Check it out!

Publication news! My short story about pigeons aired on @escapepod.org yesterday. Check it out: escapepod.org/2025/01/02/e...

Congratulations, sophonts! If you're reading this it means you've made it to our last story of 2024, "Forever the Forest" by @herlizardness.bsky.social. All of us here hope you've had a [INSERT RELEVANT SUPERLATIVE] year, and that the shield grid will be robust enough to handle 2025.

Ahoy, sophonts! With the December solstice upon us, it's the perfect time for a timely story: "The Bargain of Death and Saint Nicholas" by Craig Church. Does it involve slapping heretics or resurrecting pickled kids? You'll have to experience it to find out!

Merry endweek, sapients! This week we have a 2003-era Flashback Friday, "In the Late December" by @gregvaneekhout.bsky.social. If you're concerned that it's not yet *late* December, you only need to wait a few days and the issue will be irrelevant.

Greetings, sapients! It's still Friday on some parts of Earth, so please enjoy our latest Flashback Friday: "Red in Tooth and Cog" by @catrambo.bsky.social. Check it out!

This is an AMAZING piece of writing, and I was so so lucky to be asked to participate as a narrator. The character I played was TRULY RANK. One of the vilest voices it has been my honor to MOUTH! I can’t wait to hear the other voices on it! It was such a RADICAL SONG of a story!!!

Holy moly. If you love scifi, or the South side of Chicago, or poetry, or to hate on the north shore, this story is for you. I recommend the audio, but they have the written version in hosted too.

For legal purposes, nobody in this story is elon

Be celebratory lasers, germs, and assorted sapients: your patience is rewarded, and part 4 of 4 of "Code Switching" by Malon Edwards is available for your audio experience! Note: best experienced with sound-detecting organs.

Here we go, mortals: another week has been defeated, and the prize is part 3 of 4 of "Code Switching" by Malon Edwards, featuring grade-A cursing! The world certainly justifies it, no?

Guess what, everyone: the magnetic interlocks on the antimatter pods have failed, but they're working on it! In the meantime, please enjoy part 2 of 4 of "Code Switching" by Malon Edwards. Everything is fine and nothing is on fire!

Merry endweek, sapients: this time we've got the first of a four-parter for you, and it's of "Code Switching" by Malon Edwards. Check it out, and keep on rumbling!
