"Why should you care about global warming?" asks the denier. Because it has made most rural land around here a straight suicide to buy as rainfall can't be relied on anymore and the one with groundwater has its price shooting up to the skies. No more living off the grid for me. Dream is dead.

That the supposedly irreverent, uncensored, spontaneous 4chan turned out to be a corraled ground festering with governments and zionists is no surprise, and it's a remainder that no online "public venue" is safe from nefarious meddling. Somebody pls do the same to Reddit and Stack Exchange.

Big Tech Suppression: Huawei instead of Android or Apple Linux instead of Windows LibreOffice instead of Office Ecosia o DuckduckGo rather than Google or Bing ProtonMail or others rather than Gmail Physical retail and Temu instead of Amazon Bluesky rather than X Fuck Facebook instead of Facebook.

Always annoying when someone avoids acknowledging or even mentioning something because "the other side" believes it. Blocks them from getting closer to the truth and lead to counterproductive decisions. Right wing gets like this with global warming and left wing with common people having firearms.

Extremely good essay about Costin Alamariu, one of the rotten core ideologists of the Informatics Right. open.substack.com/pub/postscri...

This is the exact (Price per share) × (Number of shares) flawed calculation that I was mentioning the other day. This numbers are even more fake than regular bank money, a baseless extrapolation. Not getting these oligarchs off the hook, just advising to not overestimate their importance.

With the same certainty that we can agree that technology has improved human lives in the past, we must agree that it will give human lives hell from on now on. That's all the reasoning one needs to sabotage it: because the future where it continues is the worst one possible.

I wish people stopped using the word liberalism and capitalism. They have become so vague it's very hard to decipher what the person that uses them actually means. For example, "liberal" has almost opposite meanings whether it is used as "liberal economics" or "socially liberal".

I got tired of net worth and market capitalization thrown in to inflate the relevance of companies and shareholders, so I threw a post to debunk them: open.substack.com/pub/exadvers...

It is never mentioned in the public discourse, but the dependency of Mexico on gasoline imports is likely a factor as big or even bigger than the free trade agreement. How much of the gasoline imported comes from the USA? Searching the web for answers is an exercise in frustration these days.

Incredibly concerning that Mexico's agricultural development plan is completely focused on the SouthEast and that Julio Berdegué mentioned water availability as the reason. It strongly suggests the government already gave up on the North and the Center and considers them lost to global warming.

Since when we should mourn the stock market when it falls? This is the part where villains turn on themselves and start harming each other, leaving the protagonists enough time to recover and finish them both. Time to 🍻, and hope those numbers stay red for more than one month!

WTG Mexico got exempt from the tariffs? This is discrimation! Outrageous! I demand tariffs to be applied! (seriously, fuck free trade, I envy everyone else)

The tsunami of psychopath con men pathologically lying about their latest bubble scheme and the media that serves then need counterbalancing. Pretty good thread to remind AI is deservedly despised by both internet users who want to read authentic content and users who truly wanted to share.

Congrats for these scientists putting more of their skin in the game. Being well behaved, doing science and research in the lab that will be summarily ignored by governments and companies alike is ultimately inconsequential and all scientists need to realize it. Had some objections but good overall

Nobody seems willing to address about the tariffs the pathetically submissive nature of countries setting their production lines for the sole purpose of selling to a single client, only to lose their minds and panic when such client does not want to buy, and then they kneel and beg him to buy.

Is there anyone here who knows about methods to gasify and cleanly combust plastic waste whose scale is low enough to try at home or block level and avoid all the industrial scale? I'd rather send some extra carbon dioxide grams to the atmosphere than breathe and swallow all those microplastics.

It's vastly preferable for a population of one hundred to earn $10,000 each one than for ninety to earn $1,000 while ten of them earn $100,000, yet measurement by GDP will pick the second case as strictly superior with full certainty. Is GDP being the official measure of achievement any coincidence?
