Rich Eisen: "That was a 40-yard grunt." Daniel Jeremiah follows with a Monica Seles reference. Eisen: "I think that's the first-ever Monica Seles reference at a Combine. Maybe even, not just on the air, but anywhere within the stadium."

Folks the free CFB newsletter is here, today featuring @espnbillc.bsky.social and the latest on both the video game and Master P, college GM. And no, I've still never seen Blade Runner 1, but have watched Blade Runner 2 like four times. Subscribe today

🎙 New Until Saturday - The CFP may change seeding in 2025, my report from the meeting - @ESPN_BillC joins to talk teams with the most returning production - Johnny Manziel catches a stray from Kirby Smart 🎧 Listen: pod.fo/e/2b2a61 📺 Watch: youtu.be/8bNj5QQRBiA

* No. 1 will SHOCK you (no it won't) * The distance between No. 2 and the teens is smaller than ever * Iowa: Bizarro Illinois * SP+: Not ready for the Arch Effect * Path's clear for another Boise run * [deep sigh] Hello again, Bama INITIAL 2025 SP+ RANKINGS: www.espn.com/college-foot...

This dude absolutely rules. Probably won’t ever have a huge serve, but he swept Zverev tonight by winning like every long rally. Just broke him down. Long rallies are Zverev’s thing! Watch this guy!

Barcelona conceded 4 goals last night, including a 93rd minute equalizer. They should keep playing their crazy high line anyway. www.thetransferflow.com/p/i-love-bar...

* Hello there, Clemson * RUNNING BACKS DON'T MATTER * CFB's version of parity: The top tier loses quite a bit, but the second tier returns quite a bit * National averages are at an all-time low * Ugh, we're just FLEECING the G5s... 2025 RETURNING PRODUCTION RANKINGS: www.espn.com/college-foot...

I still post stuff over there occasionally, for whatever reason, and there's occasionally still absolute gold. I need more dumb arguments over here.

Just finished a play-by-play version of the 2004 SP+ rankings to replace the scores-based estimate. Will update the Giant SP+ Google Sheet to account for this soon, but in the meantime, here's the top 40 and the conference averages. The top 5 conferences were damn near equal. IMAGINE.

Been a highlight of my career to work with @tomhamiltonespn.bsky.social, SC:Featured and so many talented folks on this. Thanks to Shakhtar Stalevi for trusting us with their stories: www.espn.com/soccer/story...

DRAMA IN THE ARCTIC CIRCLE. Three stoppage time goals take Bodø/Glimt from behind to ahead to tied. The Europa League: Europe's greatest competition.

Added some stats and pretty charts to this LIVERPOOL VERSUS CITY group piece. Seems like City might be improving pretty rapidly (as long as their opponent isn't actually good) (it appears Liverpool might be good). www.espn.com/soccer/insid...

In the last 8 months, KC has hosted soccer games that were 5 degrees (Sporting-Inter Miami tonight) and, per my rough estimate, 196 degrees (Canada v. Peru at Copa America in June).

SheBelieves Cup starts this week and the USWNT looks extremely different, so I wrote about it! Stuff to know: • Catarina Macario's comeback is going Fine • The 4 young forwards are scrapping for 1 spot • Gisele Thompson is about to get 200 caps www.theguardian.com/football/202...

Laughed out loud at "Attorneys for both leagues will be present, as they want to be very careful to avoid anything that could be construed as collusion." Yeah. Would hate for it to look like the Big Ten and SEC are conspiring to limit competition... www.espn.com/college-foot...

Alright, finished the initial roster files (thread below). My two biggest reactions: 1. The national average is WAY down overall -- only 1 team's even at 80%. That'll go up as I fold in 2023 stats for injured players and stuff, but it's shockingly low. 2. Go Clemson. bsky.app/profile/espn...
