8 boxes of girl scout cookies is a dangerous thing for a girl like me to have ... But I have it....

A strand broke near the neckline of one of my fav sweaters, leaving a hole. After procrastinating for weeks out of fear, I fixed it!! I did a sloppy job, but that's ok! Pattern is Humulus, yarn is blue sky fibers woolstok in golden meadow and grey harbor. #knitting

"These creeps want to sexually harass our kids" would be a compelling message, but Dems at the national level seem to prefer throwing trans people under the bus instead.

Chuck finally met his match in the niche of "guys who send stern letters that don't do shit."

Campaigning in NC, Trump promised them more money. Whoops www.nytimes.com/2025/02/20/c...

“the United States is not a startup. The federal government exists to do all of the things that are definitionally not profitable, that serve the public good rather than protect investor profits. (The vast majority of startups also fail, something the United States cannot afford to do.)”

Why did it never occur to me that there was more to these things than "sock move, must be wind"?

25-year-old Marko Elez has been reinstated in the Trump administration and given an EOP email address, per source, as Musk had said would happen Elez left Treasury after the WSJ reported that he had tweeted last year: "Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool"

Grateful that PA's housing finance agency does not permit this.

Scrubbed from the HUD's website since Sec. Turner came on: ❌ Fair Housing overview page ❌ Info on LGBTQ rights under Fair Housing law ❌ Pages on climate & sustainability

The US Nuclear weapons agency meets DOGE: "Managers with the National Nuclear Security Administration are frantically calling employees back and telling them that -- as of right now -- they're not fired, despite some receiving termination emails and phone calls on Thursday." This is a *mess*

@flamingbaubles.bsky.social got me an EXCELLENT Valentine's Day gift (a T-shirt covered in my cat's face that says her name and "daddy's girl")

Social Housing Proposition 1A Prevails, Gains 20-Point Lead in Thursday Count “We are astounded. The Chamber of Commerce, corporations, Mayor Harrell, and the City Council put up roadblock after roadblock on our journey, but it was no match for our vast coalition and amazing people power!” #waelex

Lots of folks dunking on this for being fawning, but I can't see a single reason shoehorn masculinity into this piece? Every single point can be made without the weird undertones? ??

As a proponent of social housing, I think this is an interesting toolkit for advocacy. But I also want to shout out that this report also contains a solid primer on LIHTC and the QAP.

He dirty deleted, but it's worth breaking down: if we are "under despotic one-party rule," there's no reason to wait for a primary. This bizarro logic shows up when people believe their only political power is electoral. You know who doesn't believe that? Republicans.

We have to reimagine the whole thing. We need action to fix Philly’s housing crisis, which is why we've got to keep pushing for innovative solutions to keep people in their homes.

Was curious if our Governor was going to do something given that the AG has been busy doing... other things.

This is gutting and infuriating beyond words. A mother in Detroit, desperate for help, reached out *three times* to the city’s homeless response team—to no avail—before her two children froze to death in a van. There was shelter space available nearby. The system failed them, as it fails so many.

Re NIH funding crisis, the problem is not just political - it's also about science literacy. Sometimes research is staring at a whiteboard, but more often it means travel, staffing, infrastructure, and (unfortunately) a lot of mice. But people hear "indirect cost" and "overhead" and think "graft"!

Imagine what SEPTA could do if it weren't left hanging over a financial abyss every year!

Congress must increase funding for Housing Choice Vouchers. If funding levels are kept flat for 2025, thousands of PA households could lose access to housing assistance.

The only crime being committed here is drafting this corny ass letter

go birds

New Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner just sent out his first email to staff that starts off "I want to welcome you to the new Golden Age of America!" This part stood out to me as particularly disturbing:

I think this is a good reality check. I understand where folks are coming from: the legal system can be opaque and hardly ever produces the clean, sweeping results people expect. But legal advocacy still has a role, even if it shouldn't be the final answer to our problems.

A message I received from Senator Fetterman's office, responding to concerns about Scott Turner. It's a shame he feels that it's "pearl-clutching" to point out the harm these nominees will do to Americans and that he can abdicate his responsibility to be on the right side of history.

Scott Turner refused to say whether he would support the forcible relocation of homeless Americans to camps, and now he will be the next Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

someone pointed out how short my hair is in my headshots and I realized I couldn't remember how old they were... it was 2018 jesus christ 😞

We were thrilled to join Governor Josh Shapiro in Harrisburg yesterday as he announced his support for sealing eviction records for tenants who were not actually evicted. We know from our clients that having an eviction record creates a devastating barrier for tenants looking for housing.

SEPTA would get about $165 million more under the governor’s proposal, enough to forestall service cuts. But interim General Manager Scott Sauer says SEPTA is planning an austerity budget just in case and not counting on the increase. www.audacy.com/kywnewsradio...

New — Sources tell me OPM is preparing mass firing of probationary employees after agencies submitted lists of them last week without context. If supervisors want to keep someone on, they need to write a short justification. Directive was high level. They were told not to put any of this in print.
