Chicken Cock is delicious

This is catnip for Matt Yglesias types to be like, well, research showed the outcomes were better than no school counseling at all so let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater and in the name of being savvy utilitarians they just end up carrying water for libertarian social darwinists

This is the most wretched campaign of deliberate, explicit persecution the United States has perpetrated against a minority group in decades. Many of the most important people in politics and journalism are busying themselves trying to figure out how little to say or do about it.

Haven't logged in to Pokemon TCG Pocket for over two weeks. Has anyone else dropped off? Feels like the juice is gone.

Weird to set this passively "amid turmoil" when it is both a symptom and underlying cause of the turmoil!

It's weird out there man

NEW: NetEase' cuts of its overseas studios are far from done. Company actively looking for investors to take on many of the studios/projects it announced in 2022/23, teams led by big-name AAA devs in the west, Japan A dozen or so studios in jeopardy, a source notes www.gamefile.news/p/netease-st...

Thanks to @lukeoneil47.bsky.social for featuring an excerpt from OWNED in Hellworld today

This is like when a game company says they only fired the people who aren't important for the game except it's about a possible apocalypse

This does not sound like good news for Toshihiro Nagoshi's upcoming game www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

this reminds me how much I miss working with people IRL!

I spoke with trans and genderqueer developers about working in games in the US amid an anti-trans administration and harassment from online communities. Many feel left behind by the companies they work for. “Can’t piss off the bigots, because they spend money.” www.wired.com/story/game-d...

Incredibly funny that Google is still doing this

Been wild seeing everyone involved in this just walk away like nothing happened. "truly a life-changing two and a half years" "it was an honor working with you on this" "can't wait to see what you build next!"

"In my humble opinion, I don’t believe that we need to shout it from the rooftops because our actions consistently reflect our values."

Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene is making a quiet survival sim called Prologue instead of PUBG 2. It's the first step toward an open-source metaverse he hopes functions like an internet holodeck. Me: Like what Meta is doing? Greene: This is not Horizon, please, I'm not pitching 3D meetings.

because I jumped straight from the old site to this, no breaks, I've rarely had the chance to sit back and take it all in, but...this website rules. WE run it. no weirdo corp owners, no media conglomerate oversight. no ads, no bullshit, no currying for PR favour or access.

I talked to developers about Microsoft's newly announced generative AI model, Muse, and its role in video games: "When we rely on this stuff we are implicitly empowering a class of people who own these tools and don’t give a fuck about how they reshape our lives." www.wired.com/story/xbox-m...

This is what the end of history was supposed to look like

Hades 2's second major update is live: "With The Warsong Update, Hades II now packs these latest additions and improvements: Are you prepared for the Final Confrontation on the surface? Discover what lies beyond the Guardian of Olympus... if you dare!" www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrpG...

The new reframe about using AI to ideate is so weird, like, no thank you, I have plenty of ideas, way too many in fact!

Kinda bummed SGF is two weeks before the FF MTG sets arrive. My one chance to actually play with folks!

New Cosmo D joint inbound

The alternate headline for this piece was "Netflix Is The Latest Tech Giant To Fumble Gaming" This sucks. kotaku.com/netflix-squi...

Pokemon Go is reportedly with over twice what Ubisoft is at that price. Also who bails Ubisoft out if not Saudi Arabia or Tencent?

I've heard that NetEase is massively pulling back on games, tho mostly single player projects (remember those veteran studio startup closures?) but this is not what I expected.

My PS5 after the power finally comes back on following a 2-day outage in 25 degree weather: fuck you!

Single best perk on the eShop. This sucks!

Not great bob!

Sometimes the power goes out and the basement starts flooding because the sump pump won't turn on and nothing is charged but you do have some candles and a couple double AA batteries.

The election made something snap inside Ezra Klein and

This game great. Everyone go check it out

My refund, needed for some outstanding bills and a down payment on a car, has now been sitting with the IRS for 28 days since my 2024 tax filings were accepted.

Played about an hour of Nightreign so far and it feels way different than I expected. The pacing is lightning quick. Exploration is essentially a mad dash around the map before each boss fight. But the multiplayer rogulite idea is cool and Elden Ring supplies a robust foundation for it.

I just did this, got excited when I found my Steam Link but then got sad when I realized I can't find the power adapter.

Happy Valentine's Day, America.

My review for Trails Through Daybreak II is up at @pastemagazine.bsky.social. It's a game that might frustrate those looking for The Next Big Overarching Story Beat in the long-running series, but it excels at character work and dragging the past into the present to tie up loose narrative ends

Well look at that!
