This is a good piece on the “MAGA isn’t real Christianity” question. It doesn’t take a position on whether religion itself is harmful which seems fine since that’s not the focus and would require defining the concept. The point is both kinds of Christianity are “real”. Some extra thoughts in 🧵.

Extremely very very bad.

Can’t wait to find out from @travisview.bsky.social and company which Q website this list was copied and pasted from.

New moral luck case dropped.

“Crab bucket mentality” is such a banger.

Okay, apologies if this is old news, but it’s been a sec since I’ve seen Annie and Hooooly is that the most fucked up rags to riches story in a genre that exists entirely to legitimize radical wealth inequality. “But it’s so adorable” you say?! How well do you remember the plot? 🧵

When it’s over, there will be attempts to spin an epic narrative about this. Realist IR theorists will come up with some balance of power BS, the media will try to make it some kind of operatic tragedy, etc. Resist this. It was stupid and pathetic and senseless. Don’t let them gaslight you.

This is such a hilarious thing to imagine. Just trying to visualize it will put a voidy smile on your face.

It’s just Nazi shit, all the way down.

The problem is all AI discussion takes place in the shadow of hype. When Mark posts stuff like “anyone can do any job if they just get good at ChatGPT” he’s contributing to that problem. It’s silly to then wonder why the conversation goes badly. I say this as someone who is pro-AI.

Just gonna point out that Watters has zero confusion about which side Joe Rogan works for.

This reminds me of the part in Secret of our Success where Heinrich explains how colonial explorers would show up in new climates thinking they could survive better than the indigenous people by replacing local practices with fancy new tech. They all died or were saved by the locals.

Great Replacement conspiracy aka mainstream GOP talking points aka Nazi shit. It’s all the same racebaiting.

This is barely watered down RFK Jr rhetoric. They’re going to clamp down hard on the production of meds and are gonna try to put a “hold” on childhood vaccines while they “test them for safety”. So much unnecessary suffering and death headed our way.

“Liberals”: The right wins because they’re willing to offend people. Progressives: Trump ran on a Nazi campaign and his base are White Christian Nationalists. “Liberals” and centrists have enabled them out of cowardice or sympathy. “Liberals”: Not like that. More like throwing around the R-word.

Something I think folks may misunderstand about body horror is thinking it’s about doing weird shit TO bodies to make them grotesque. But true body horror imo is about highlighting how the body IS a horror. We spend our whole lives trapped in this weird mutating meat-bag. We are already Brundlefly.

Yeah this is just stochastic terrorism. Simple as that.

He’s way out of his lane (epistemology) but he’s not wrong. This is, in fact, objectively bad.
