This undergrad paper I just finished reading was so bad and so clearly created by gen-ai and so bad in ways that are so clearly characteristic of gen-ai.

Getting an offer from a PhD program only to have it rescinded is devastating, for sure. But... then you don't drown in the quicksand of academia, with all your self worth and self esteem depending on your random success/failure to reach some imaginary level of "merit". So that's nice.
