The EU is fully engaged in supporting the democratic, peaceful and inclusive transition in Syria. I had a good first exchange with the interim president of Syria Ahmed al-Sharaa. It was useful to hear first hand about the ongoing political process and the challenges that Syria faces.

Honoured to participate today on behalf of the European Union at the emergency summit of the League of Arab States on Gaza. The EU is committed to peace. It stands ready to work with its Arab partners and the international community to rebuild Gaza.

On behalf of 44 States we raised today in Geneva at the Human Rights Council the challenging human rights situation in #Ethiopia, including the shrinking civic space. We call on 🇪🇹 to demonstrate its commitment to transitional justice by taking decisive steps to ensure accountability.
