Each of these federal cuts is to displace the egregious mass transfer of wealth to several hundred billionaires. They’ve gutted us for $71T at this point. We can afford universal healthcare, pensions for seniors, Head Start, opioid recovery programs, etc. We just need to end their tax breaks.

This whole idea that tariffs will restart manufacturing: factories don’t come online overnight. Manufacturers will be out of business due to the tariffs before they can set up new stateside factories. Fifth graders could work out the logic here. It’s all nonsense.

Not an economist. However WA State has the most regressive tax structure in the US. Sales tax, gas tax, car tabs, liquor tax, no income tax. A sizable amount of our tax revenue comes from the working and lower classes, who can’t pay anymore. Cutting programs will exacerbate our deficit crisis.

Fact checking myself: Government spending in Washington State is flat from 1980. I accidentally flipped the dividend and the divisor. That said, flat since 1980, when the cost of services compared to the rest of the economy is increasing--means we are doing less than 45 years ago.
