i am once again begging someone to send me to Cannes. i can take good photos for your needs and wants. there is a new Bi Gun and a new Tony Leung film, i actually cannot miss those. also, there is not a better film festival, please.

ok but how do people keep positive these days? the world is on fire environmentally; politically; the rich get ultraricher; the poor get poorer; i will be forever renting and having to move every few years cause the UK is weird; capitalism is killing my soul.

Laura Dern and Isabella Rossellini for the 97th Academy Awards 💙

Whomever had the idea of getting Nick Offerman to do Oscars voiceover deserves a raise.

pawn-ch-ky

i’m actually happy that Anora won over The Brutalist cause it kinda proves you don’t need BIG NAMES to make a movie a success. i have a few issues with Anora but compared to The Brutalist they actually bothered to hire Eastern Europeans for Eastern European characters. :)

& i was silly enough to do this over the last 14 hours (!!! truly) as a creative exercise slash challenge. a bit rushed in places and deffo imperfect but i promise myself to do a cleaner tribute to Best Picture nominees, a’la motion graphics from the 2015/2016 ceremonies… next year. #Oscars2025

Have to say, Billy Crystal doing the When Harry Met Sally line at the end was so lovely and it fit that a film that preceded the most romantic comedy of the lot. Long live the Oscars in all it's silliness and seriousness.

Highlight of the Oscars: Seeing how genuinely excited Yuri Borisov and Mark Eydelshteyn were at every turn. Ear to ear grins from start to finish.

Here’s my plea to the Academy in the coming years… Give one to Colman Domingo. Soon. His career is far from over, but the work that man is doing is too good. Watch Sing Sing if you haven’t.

the best thing about these oscars is nick offerman narration. right as i finished rewatching parks and recs s4 for now

what is going on? on the hell is lisa??? why margaret????

in a theatre on my own, listening to other people talking to their friends in their native languages and other people speaking English is foreign accents. i love London. more of that on film and tv screen please. this is the best thing about London.

Last night I saw the Scottish premiere of On Falling by @lauracarreira.bsky.social and it is a special film. I admired the careful restraint of its storytelling, and its insistence on our capacity for kindness and beauty. It announces Carreira as a film maker of real courage and humanity. See it!

same.

"The fact you don't have money is not just problematic because you're not getting the basics, it’s also excluding you from society" Laura Carreira (@lauracarreira.bsky.social) on ON FALLING, her debut feature about the tolls of the gig economy https://buff.ly/3ELUf5X [✍️: @jamiedunnesq.bsky.social]

i am literally already in the ADHD360 system, submitted my „on-boarding” forms and i again stuck in the limbo of „we don’t know when appointments will be available” it’s a joke

there is no photo of adam scott and gwendoline christie at baftas from yesterday. photographers had literally one job!

when this one hit home almost too close, and i saw myself in the main character’s journey wayyy too often i mean it! please y’all watch this! we need more films like this made! 💙 congratulations to the team!

emilia perez winning over all we imagine as light will be *my* villain story

they really programmed Kontinental '25 at the worst time/worst venues.

did Three Kilometres to the End of the World, winner of the Queer Palm at Cannes last year, even get a UK distribution?

new reaction photo dropped

coming back home to watch the best thing of the berlinale 25 line up so far: severance s2 ep5

IF I DONT GET MICKEY 17 AND SEE ROB PATT I AM SUING

just realised both films on capitalistic hellscape are released on the 7th of March. make yourself a double bill & support international filmmakers. ON FALLING by @lauracarreira.bsky.social and MICKEY 17 by Bong Joon Ho. this just came to me now so you're all welcome!

✨ will be in Berlin 13-21 Feb if people wanted to grab coffee; chat; network! if you find be running between the cinemas please say hi, i’m nice :) ✨

anybody knows how else can i get to Cannes? not to be overdramatic but my life will be miserable if i don’t go.

✨ look at what she’s illustrated and designed! ✨ if everyone could make their way to the BFI Southbank in April for the Bong Joon Ho retrospective this would be very cool and much appreciated! 🧡💚💜 for the inpatient folks there are a few goodies at the BFI IMAX now-ish pre-Mickey 17!

everything feels apocalyptic

ofc bong joon ho is at the bfi on the evening i’m flying out to berlin. happy for y’all tho!

didn’t get into the scriptwriting workshops with an idea i had brewing in me since like 2017 :( big boooo!
