If there was any quote more pertinent in today's social climate, this is it. #JaneEyre #Charlotte

Due to the series and Jane Austen's birthday, we'll be seeing many think pieces on "Miss Austen" in the upcoming months.

I love learning about the geography of where films are made. This article also includes links to places of interest in the locations where the films are filmed.

If Jane had to answer and could not lie, I'd ask her what really happened with Tom LeFroy.

Here's another round-up of events happening across the UK to celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th. A correction to the article: Jane’s work never went out of print.

Don’t be fooled by the title. The author dishes more blow-hearted opinions than answers the question he posits.

Nearly 200 years later, Emily still tells the truth

Starting in August, Stitchin' Heaven has a sew-a-long to celebrate Jane Austen's 250th birthday! For 10 months, you'll work on creating a quilt. All materials included. There is a non-refundable $25 registration fee and then $39.99 monthly. Go to: https://buff.ly/4jRJyPr for more details.

Who is your favorite Knightly?

Overton is barely mentioned when we hear about where Jane Austen lived, and she lived near it for the first 25 years of her life! The walking trails do seem lovely. I’m glad Overton is taking the reigns to celebrate Jane’s legacy.

Mr. Lisa and I are doing a podcast called "When Grumpy Meets Sunshine" where we read a romance novel and discuss it. Don't know when the first episode will drop but today we set up the podcasting equipment. Here is a rough cut of what we sound like! www.lisarabey.com/wp-content/u...

While there is daylight, there is no direct sun so why the pictures look a bit dark. As of Friday, we’re up to 114” of snow. Our plow guy was here this morning when we left to take Thursday out for her morning constinutional so I wanted to get pics of a before and after he plows. 10” this weekend.

This showed up in my inbox today! This Jane Austen event is free and online. To register, go to https://buff.ly/41jcJna. (This event will kick off JA&Co series, Music and the Regency.)

FFS, even Vogue UK falls into the spell of using, “It’s a truth universally….” This isn’t a list of “dreamiest” adaptations but a list of adaptations in the last 30 years. All the favorites are here…including the 2022 Persuasion (which I LIKED). https://buff.ly/4jPRKjj #BookSky

I have failed for my Jane Austen empire by not writing an essay on celebrating Valentine's Day in the Regency era, so have some Pride and Prejudice cards instead!

Well. I suck! I had EVERY intention of writing an essay on Valentine's Day in the Regency era (it was a thing!) but time got away from me. :( So here is a few Valentines to tide you over! 💘

I think this is the toughest question I've asked so far! If friendship, Lizzie Bennet. If situationship, Wickham. If love match? Cpt. Wentworth. I think. :) #BookSky

A great review of the Jane Austen inspired queer YA graphic novel, “I Shall Never Fall in Love.” (More queer Austen inspired books, please!) #BookSky

I can confidently say that while I've been in love many times, each time was completely different from the others. They were perfect for me at the time I was with them.

If you’re a fan of podcasts, there are over a dozen of them dedicated to Jane Austen and the Brontës! If I’m missing any, let me know so I can update the list!

The native Reminders app on MacOS and iOS has lost my love. Does anyone have a recommendation for a simple reminder app similar to Reminders that WILL sync across macOS and iOS? (And not crazy expensive.) (I just need to add a reminder and check it off. I don't need anything fancy.)

The BBC News has a great roundup of events happening across England this year for Jane Austen’s birthday.

Give a girl an education, and introduce her properly into the world, and ten to one but she has the means of settling well, without farther expense to anybody. #JaneAusten #MansfieldPark

Question! I’m compiling a list of favorite groups, pages, and hashtags you follow that pertain to writing. It can be a general writing group or page, something specific like a romance group or page, or hashtags. I’ll post the list in a few weeks! #WriterSky #BookSky #Romancelandia

Question: Is anyone into Pokemon cards? My five year old nephew is getting into Pokemon and I want to be the cool aunt who spoils him.

I watch Pride and Prejudice 2005 close to six times a year. Now, I want to catalog all the words!

We'll see many roundups this year of events happening worldwide to celebrate Jane's 250th birthday.

I have "Obstinate Headstrong Girl" tattooed on my right wrist. I identify with Elizabeth most of the time, and the quote seems to be too much of a truism to ignore.

I love how we can use Jane in so many different ways.

ThirftBooks has a great article on a survey the “uncovers the secret lives of romance fans.” www.thriftbooks.com/blog/romance... #Romancelandia #Writersky #BookSky

I bet you cannot EVEN guess the number one book with variations on this list. I BET! www.amazon.com/gp/bestselle...

Saw the covers. NOT A FAN.

I assumed, probably because of this song by Danny and the Juniors, that the word “hop” meaning “a dance” was an American coinage from the fifties. But it’s used by Jane Austen in Sense & Sensibility and the dictionary says it’s even much older (pre 1600) youtu.be/U3KjDpvmtwU

I really enjoyed BBC drama Miss Austen (I haven't read the book on which it's based). It's slow in a way but in a Jane Austen kind of way! So refreshing to watch a drama with mostly female characters, makes one realise how most drama is very male dominated! An excellent cast. Recommended. 8/10.

I could say the same thing about Mr. Lisa!

A look at one of the many events held at the Jane Austen House in Chawton.
