Software is when I wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt.

I coach on Minnesota's professional women's and non-binary Ultimate Frisbee team, the Minnesota Strike. Every year we raise money through sales of limited-run jerseys-- if you'd like a special Coach Genghis jersey (and wanna support the team), pick one up here teams.breakmark.com/group/psp202...

Anybody taken the Amtrak from Minneapolis to Chicago? How far in advance do we need to get to Union Station? Which seats are best? Is business class worth the upgrade? Any other tips?

I played my first singles tennis match in months last night and I t was really fun! I lost in two sets, but it was close and we were evenly matched. Now I want to play more singles!

[slaps roof of Minnesota] this bad boy can fit so many trans people in it

Spent the last few days skiing at Whistler with friends. This place is incredible!

These extraordinary photos of the LA fires have been shared widely on social media, often without crediting the photographer. These are all the work of Ethan Swope, an LA-based photojournalist working for AP. You can follow his remarkable reporting here👇 www.instagram.com/ethanswopeph...

This sounds fascinating!

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is quietly eliminating the at-grade boulevard options (A and B) from the Rethinking I-94 project. This move, rushed before the holidays, deprives communities of a chance to explore a transformative alternative to the highway trench. 🧵(1/9)

Minneapolis has declared a snow emergency, where the city only plows the streets it loves.

I love the first big snowfall of the year. the quiet streets, the glimmering white snow reflecting in the moonlight, the knowledge of which neighbors are selfish assholes and/or absentee landlords. there is so much beauty in the world if you have eyes to see.

Hey #MNTech! Did you know @minnestar.org is on Bluesky?!? Go give them a follow and while you’re at it maybe a small $5 gift toward the end of year match 💙 minnestar.org/support-us/b...

Now is a *great* time to donate to Minnestar if you regularly attend & benefit from their events!

Minneapolis, Supply Depot needs shoes & socks

It’s like five questions. No nonsense.

For those in the web dev space, we have another in-person JavaScriptMN meetup on this Wednesday, December 4th! meetu.ps/e/NFhNz/tG1Y...

This is especially fascinating because I *just* started using Cursor for personal coding projects and am loving it so far. Great post, @gergely.pragmaticengineer.com! newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/ide-that-s...

As an EM, I’m really choosy about how/when I pick up coding tasks. I like to (I’m a learn-by-doing type and it keeps me familiar with my teams’ codebases/workflows) but I’ve had to set key boundaries to find balance over the years ⬇️

A buddy built a "Good Coffee" finder app for the Twin Cities, and it's awesome. Free, and available on both iOS & Android: www.mplscoffee.com

I started a new side project today. Bought a domain, created a repo, spun up a new NextJS app, etc. Feels good, man.

My latest blog post covers how a simple observation at airport security highlights the concept of Betterment and how it applies to engineering teams. Which group are you in? angiejones.tech/the-betterme...

There are a lot of new folks here (hi!), sharing that I made a CSS Grid Generator tool that might be useful to you if you're making a site. https://buff.ly/3c8XSzI Enjoy!
