I wrote this four days ago. Today, they arrested the NYC Comptroller.

HAPPENING NOW: New Yorkers are protesting against ICE’s illegal arrest of NYC comptroller Brad Lander.

Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.

I suspect it's even stupider. He wants to take credit for it but hasn't done the thing. So at some future point we will pay for this.

the antiwar president is on the verge of committing the nation to the most ambitious and risky military adventurism since Iraq — but in this case the enemy is far stronger and far more dangerous and the possible consequences of having no real end-game are even more apocalyptic.

Can someone please ask Karoline Leavitt why the Director of White House Personnel refuses to say what country he is from and refuses to complete paperwork for a background check? Can you also ask if “Sergio Gor” is the name on his birth certificate. Seems kinda important.

The gaslighting as they say this shit despite clear video showing it isn't true is almost as frightening as the original abuse of power.

These parents waited all day as rescuers dug through the rubble after the Russian strike in Kyiv. Their son’s body was just found.

"It's bullshit," Gov. Hochul says of the arrest of NYC Comptroller Brad Lander by ICE. She says she will call him when he's out of detention. "But what about all the people who don't have that high profile position?"

Sen. Mike Lee “has not yet issued any apology for the posts, and his office has not responded to several requests for comment.”

Hi, this is Meg Barnette, Brad's wife. While escorting a defendant out of immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza, Brad was taken by masked agents and detained by ICE. This is still developing, and our team is monitoring the situation closely.

I'm old enough to remember when it used to take months or even years for a ginned up WMD claim to fall apart. Now it collapses in days. What a credit to the amazing information systems we've built. Kudos all around. www.cnn.com/2025/06/17/p...

⚡️ US group designed to pressure Russia into peace in Ukraine disbanded by Trump administration, Reuters reports. "It lost steam toward the end because the president wasn't there," an official told Reuters.

I'm grateful for @davidgilbert.bsky.social and his clear reporting that absolutely debunks this disgusting false narrative. The Minnesota shooter Vance Boelter was an evangelical preacher, registered Republican, voted for Trump, and watched Alex Jones' Infowars. www.wired.com/story/psyop-...

call for a vote to censure or call for a vote to expel. protract the story and explain why it matters.

"as part of the contract told CBP to not reveal where the data came from" that sounds completely above board and not at all suspicious

We can only make our Union stronger by learning about our history, acknowledging our mistakes, and applying the lessons of our past to our present.

Ask yourself: If Donald Trump was a thinly-veiled Russian asset, can you name one thing he’d be doing differently?

Non-zero chance we're about to bomb Iran because he got bored hanging out with Mark Carney and Keir Starmer.

Holy crap. The US-UK trade deal is a blank sheet of paper and only Trump signed it. (Genuine screen grab).

Very cool that several people who used to yell at me in DMs for being too mean to Facebook are now running some sort of extralegal posse informally deputized by the actual United States Army.

"Tickets to the opening match that were once $349 (and up) could be had for just $4."

They’re chaosmaxing.

Brand-new polling from YouGov out this AM finds Trump's actions re: LA underwater. Double-digit disapproval on sending in Marines. This should be a reality check for those people arguing the protests inherently help Trump bc his immigration approval # is positive. today.yougov.com/topics/polit...

as someone prone to directly confronting people for stuff they say online, that from lee is the face of someone who did not expect to be confronted for something he said online

i say this probably a distressing amount but i feel like the only rational response to hearing the sentence 'they're making a trump instant pot' is to assume you've died and are experiencing the final moments of frenetic neuron connectivity

Listen, we're straight shooters at Hell Gate. We play no favorites. Like, say if anyone wracked up speeding violations in school zones, and then parked their car in the middle of traffic in midtown Manhattan. You know what we'd call you? An ASSHOLE. Here's one. hellgatenyc.com/cuomo-derang...

❗️Kyiv under massive attack by UAVs: residential buildings are being hit.

"we have our trade agreement with the European Union." (That's Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, who has no authority over the European Union.)

🚨 There’s a lot of horrific news out of Washington right now—but you might have missed this: Senate Republicans just introduced a plan to sell off 120 million acres of our public lands. Let me break down what’s in the bill and why it’s a full-scale land grab. 🧵

The fact that a conversation regarding a pardon is being had is absolutely shameful
