I THOROUGHLY enjoyed #DeptQ on Netflix.

There is no way he won all 7 swing states.

San Antonio police have walked back on a previous statement that there was no evidence of a hate crime in the killing of actor Jonathan Joss, with the police chief now calling the statement “premature.”

I'm just glad one of these men has the nuclear codes and the other has all our personal data.

This might be the absolute greatest reply we have ever received. Thank you, Cookie Monster 📕🍪💙

very fun to read frederick douglass accurately describe the problem with the pardon power in 1867

“Even if most Americans haven’t abandoned their private sense of empathy, many don’t seem terribly bothered by the rancidness of their leaders,” writes George Packer. “It might be the ugliest effect of Trump’s return”:

In 1885, white rioters murdered dozens of Chinese residents of Rock Springs, Wyoming. The story of the atrocity is still being unearthed 140 years later.

A top coronavirus vaccine adviser at the CDC has resigned, citing concerns that she could no longer help vulnerable people after officials rescinded recommendations to immunize children and pregnant women.

The woman who shouted "people will die" at Joni Ernst, India May, is a nurse and a librarian who first got involved in politics by going to a town hall about bills aiming to defund libraries. Now she's running for state house. eu.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/p...

After killing off wolves in the U.S. Rocky Mountains by the 1930s, the U.S. government sent Carter Niemeyer and a small team to Canada 30 years ago to sedate, catch, study and reintroduce wolves to the American West. Here is their story, the first in a five-part series and accompanying podcast.

Yes.

my takeaway from this feature is that in a functioning political system there would be televised congressional hearings over the fact that one of the most influential people in the white house is a total maniac www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Here's something everybody should be paying attention to: Congressional Republicans are trying to weaken the Affordable Care Act and put millions of people at risk of losing their health care. Call your Senators and tell them we can't let that happen.

Renée Victor, who appeared in a number of TV series through her decades-long career and voiced the strict but loving grandmother in the Pixar film “Coco,” died on Friday. She was 86.

More than a century after the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921, one of the most horrific episodes of racial violence in U.S. history, the city’s mayor announced a $105 million reparations package on Sunday. It is the first large-scale plan committing funds to address the impact of the atrocity.

Law enforcement officers should never cover their faces when making arrests or conceal their identities (unless they are working undercover). They work for us. We have a right to know who they are. These face coverings are frightening & unAmerican, as though they're ashamed of what they're doing.

Good story. But parts are truly ridiculous. #WomanOfTheDead

Lately, I've been reminding myself that 75 million voters chose Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. We didn't defeat Trumpism at the ballot box. But remembering that 75 million US adults rejected hatred and fear helps me stay encouraged during these difficult days, weeks, and months.

Valerie Mahaffey, an actress with a knack for playing eccentric women who sometimes revealed themselves to be sinister in TV shows like “Desperate Housewives,” “Northern Exposure” and “Devious Maids,” died on Friday. She was 71.

Last year, we became the first state to build and open three veterans homes simultaneously.   I just signed a bill that fully funds the staffing and operations of these homes well into the future. I’m proud of Minnesota’s enduring commitment to better serve those who served us.

These voters have access to the same information as the rest of us. If they lack critical thinking skills, that’s a discussion. But not listening to voices outside of Rightwingia is a choice.

This refusal to see people for who they truly are is a huge reason why we are where we are.

You enablers are wild. When T*ump says something outrageous, it’s “Oh, he’s just talking.” When he does something outrageous, it’s “Who could have predicted?” He campaigned on deporting 20M people. Did he say mothers were excluded? The nerve.

Same. h/t @jennifershin.bsky.social

It's possible she may be guilty of this crime, but it's unreasonable for her to pay too high a price for 20 seconds of action. Think of her future! Girls will be girls.

Even before latest thing I've been telling people for months Joni Ernst is way more vulnerable next year than people think. Dems should be investing a lot right now laying the ground work in the state.

Spare me the fake outrage. None of these people showing up for court are criminals of any kind. As a prosecutor, I worked with many ICE officers who arrested violent criminals. None of them wore masks. Many of your agents are clearly ashamed to carry out your orders.

And she knows the good Christian white folks of the Hawkeye State will still keep voting for her even if she openly embraces necropolitics.

Joni Ernst is a POS: "Illegals" don't get Medicaid benefits. Medicaid is not money mailed to people. Medicaid PAYS health bills. My mom's memory care was paid for by Medicaid. And it's HARD as HELL to qualify. Undocumented people sometimes pay IN thru taxes. They do NOT get friggin' benefits. Bitch.

Nice to see the county collecting data about what actually changes driver behavior: ❌ Higher fines ❌ Reduced speed limits ✔️ Altering the physical characteristics of the roadway The new Speed Management Pilot Safety Project will focus on arterials. Info here: www.arlingtonva.us/Government/P...

NEW: Former “We Buy Ugly Houses” franchise owner Charles Carrier agreed to plead guilty to one count of felony wire fraud that carries a potential 20-year prison sentence. The plea follows a ProPublica report detailing how Carrier bilked investors across Texas out of millions of dollars.

Honestly amend the California constitution to replace him with Jerry Brown again at this point.

After the pandemic and remote work hollowed out downtown San Francisco, the city realized that skaters might offer a way to bring people back. Made quickly and with minimal fuss, here’s how a park for skateboarders revived a central plaza. nyti.ms/43PkS49

it’s hard to keep in perspective after what happened to twitter, but the self-inflicted dumpster fire at Target is incredible. couldn’t have gone worse if they tried

For decades, U.S. consumers were leery of bidets. But now, nearly half of renovating homeowners in the country are choosing to install toilets with specialty features, including bidet toilet seats. How did the Japanese toilet take over? nyti.ms/4dF8DdC
