NEW: The committee of MPs who’ll scrutinise Kim Leadbeater’s assisted dying bill in its next phase in Parliament has been announced. 23 MPs including palliative care minister Stephen Kinnock and justice minister Sarah Sackman. Plus 11 backbenchers who voted for, 9 against.

I’ve reported on homelessness for years and met many, many people who have found themselves in awful situations Every single one of them had more decency and integrity than this privileged plutocrat

Not exactly the most important issue, but this site has proved exceptional at covering breaking international news, exclusively due starter packs. Far superior to Twitter, even in its prime.

Yum yum. "The raw milk producer at the center of several bird-flu recalls says RFK Jr. has encouraged him to apply for a position at the FDA. "The recalls were the result of positive tests for H5N1 bird flu among his cows. His farms have since been quarantined...” www.latimes.com/environment/...

Reform is a party by and for men born in 1967 who believe they were personally gassed at the Somme.

Like this post if you’ve never called Twitter “X” and never will.

extraordinary news from Romania where its constitutional court has cancelled the deciding round of the country’s presidential election scheduled for Sunday after allegations that Russia used TikTok to promote the leading candidate www.ft.com/content/2248...

Thank you @bsky.app for suspending the fake account within hours of it being reported. On X there are several fake accounts which have been live for more than a year & X has proved incapable of removing them. What a difference. The sky is most definitely bluer here🙏

My blood pressure goes up whenever I’m on Twitter, and I feel relaxed whenever I’m on Bluesky. Every single time. 🦋

People are leaving Twitter because it’s not fun anymore and no one is obligated to be on a platform they don’t enjoy. It’s not rocket science.

Wow. Here is one to brighten up your morning. The first images of the restored interior of Notre Dame cathedral. Breathtaking. In just five years France did it

So @vicderbyshire.bsky.social's interview - in the street, surrounded by angry farmers - with Jeremy Clarkson for Newsnight is an absolute masterclass in keeping your cool and knowing your facts. I love Clarkson's Farm, but his replies to her were not his finest moment.

Nigel Farage out and about in Whitehall dressed as someone who isn't a farmer thinks a farmer dresses

Please spare a thought for James Dyson, the Brexit-voting billionaire who bought up 33,000 acres of farmland to avoid tax then moved his business to Singapore. He's the real victim here.

Victoria Derbyshire nails Jeremy Clarkson over his Inheritance Tax scam. Hilarious to watch him squirm.

Just realised have started to instinctively open this site first when a bit bored, in a queue etc. Sure am not alone. Sign of success…

I will never understand how a billionaire, the richest man on Earth, spent millions to buy an election for ANOTHER billionaire, and told us that his policies would cause all of us non-billionaires “temporary hardship...” ...and the public didn't tell BOTH OF THEM to fuck off.

I really enjoyed Rivals on Disney+! It’s huge fun, with a great cast, rollicking plot, and charming tongue firmly in charming cheek

If you’re watching us from outside the United States, it’s pretty much as bad as it looks.

Morning Bluesky. Peter Brookes, The Times.

Oh man, this I get

Ed Davey :On making our economy and security Trump proof “I think millions of people in the UK and elsewhere are just really worried and quite scared. And they’re particularly scared about what it’s going to mean for our security and our economy.” www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

NEW: Transport Secretary Louise Haigh becomes the latest in a flurry of cabinet members to say she is in favour of assisted dying and leaning towards voting for the bill. #trevorphillips

Latest Trump cabinet pick is Chris Wright for Energy Secretary, an oil executive. He has: -Described net zero as "sinister." -Last year said: “There is no climate crisis and we’re not in the midst of an energy transition either.” -Claimed we've seen no increase in extreme weather events.

This unspeakable, insufferable cunt. Musk won't ever be able to demonstrate a microgram of the bravery and dignity Zelenskyy has demonstrated.

If you are anti-Brexit and pro EU and want to find some extra followers. RT and reply to this post and add each other. No fun speaking to yourself.

So the House would release the Ethics report on Gaetz if he was still a Member, but since he’s been nominated to be the chief law enforcement officer for the US with control of every federal law enforcement agency, investigation, and case, they will hide the report. Makes sense.

As I chat away on here with people about their middle-aged Friday nights I'm increasingly furious over how obviously Twitter was strangling my feed. This ACTUALLY works as a social media platform. X was just bots, ads and fury. There are PEOPLE here.

So the GOP is just currently covering up potential sex crimes against children by one of their members and instead of releasing the report, they are trying to make that person the Attorney General of the United States? Do we have that right?

All that remains is for Trump to name Marjorie Taylor Greene as Education Secretary, and we'll have a full deck.

God I feel for the people of America. Particularly those who didn’t vote for him. We’ve had years of viciously useless Tory govts breaking things that matter to us and leaving the country in a sorry mess. But Trump and his team are frenziedly deranged. God knows how America survives this.

If you're new to RFK Jr studies, you may know about the vaccine & fluoride denial, but not that he's another pro-Kremlin voice in the incoming Trump administration. In business, I believe this is called a takeover. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...

Sceptic is misapplied as suffix on vaccine-, climate- euro- etc. Scepticism is healthy practice of withholding confidence pending evidence. If you recoil from evidence and demand your own alternative pretend evidence it's denial.

It’s November 2024 and I am listening for the first time ever to BBCs ‚Today‘ talking about the damage Brexit has done to Britain. I mean, it has just been 8 years..

The week in and out of Westminster www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024...

“For the sake of Britain, Europe and humanity, it’s time for us to get back with the European team” Me for Byline Times (@bylinetimes.bsky.social) on what Trump’s election means for US-UK-EU relations.

Imagine sitting down for a drink or a meal with people whose company you enjoyed & being told by management that half of the table would be now occupied by people who just wanted to shout ‘C**t’ at you. The exodus has absolutely nothing to do with ‘opinions’. Media reports must reflect this more.

The more this place reminds me of why I liked social media so much the more I realise that I stopped doing so a long time ago. It’s extraordinary what happened. The volume & violence of posts from accounts you had never shown the slightest interest in just exploded. It *must* have been deliberate.

🚨🚨 So there it is, absolutely crazy week now 10 k followers after starting the week with 4 k. I am in the process of following back people but I am afraid I will not be up to scratch with this until beginning of next week. This week has been fun but very intense on Bluesky.😀

Nice here innit?

As 🦋 spins faster (going to be 17 million in a few hours) the eXodus is real As @iandunt.bsky.social says “it’s giving us a sense of agency. Most of us didn’t even have a vote at the US election, we just had to live with the consequences.” iandunt.substack.com/p/twitter-is...
