I believe the truth is important but the way to get to the truth is through critically thinking and empathy #edchat .

The best is trying to get an Ai to spell when creating an image LOL #EduSkyAI

My students are always fabulously frustrated by the way the image generators ignore some of their directions. #EduSkyAI

A4: I think weaving it into the core components of digital citizenship is the way to go. Ai is just the internet on steroids so sticking to the core components of digital citizenship with a lens focused on Ai is the way to go. I would love to hear other ideas! #eduskyai

Agreed! Image generation allows a person to literally see how words in a prompt are “interrupted” by biased data or training.

This is an awesome breakdown. We were scheduled to talk about PBL today, but @thenerdyteacher.bsky.social couldn't make it tonight and he LOVES that topic, so I'm saving it for him. #EduSkyAI

Absolutely! I would be interested in hearing how you define the term "durable skills" in this context, if you'd be willing to share! #EduSkyAI

A3: I think image generation is always eye opening with the bias. Also showing the examples of how early self driving cars were not able to recognize people of colour is another good example #EduSkyAi

Q2: by giving them real examples relevant to their age k-3 may know Alexa 4-8 image generation or self driving cars 9-12 using vetted controlled tools and implementing project based learning to try getting students to solve real world problems or providing Ai tutors #eduskyai

Awesome, so glad you could join in tonight! #EduSkyAI

A1: I think beyond the understanding of what Ai is, Bias and the different types of Ai, it is very important to talk to students about how Ai will impact the workforce and iterate the importance of durable skills and how durable skills will empower them with Ai. #EduSkyAI

We have discussed this before! Sometimes I do live stream the BlueSky chat and I open up voice chat on Discord to play games with educators right after. We did Rocket League last week! I'm feeling a little under the weather tonight so I'm giving the chat my all but couldn't stream :( #LevelUpEDU

That is really fascinating. I never thought about this at character selection. Have you done this with students or is this something you'd like to do? #LevelUpEDU

A1. I stop at red lights in Grand Theft Auto. 😜 In all seriousness, there are so many opportunities to simulate aspects of being a good citizen. I also think teaching good digital citizenship in multiplayer games could really help reduce online vitriol. #LevelUpEDU
