I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

#USA: "We urge the US government to immediately resume funding of critical humanitarian and health aid, either through rescinding relevant orders freezing funding or expanding the current narrow humanitarian waiver to cover all necessary health and humanitarian programs." - @avrilbenoit.bsky.social

Y'all pick a lane. Then make a little progress in your lane each day. Every serious, experienced organizer I know is Doing Their Thing. Instead of freaking out about each bit of bad news, we're in our lanes rapidly building dual power infrastructure and networks that don't rely on the goverment.

Funniest self-censoring you’re ever gonna see is “b*llocks.” Who are you trying not to offend? Chimney sweeps? People who bite coins to make sure they’re real?

I can’t confirm this, but I see legitimate confirmations from reputable organizations? Very sorry for Kevin’s family and friends if so. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/las-vegas-nv/kevin-mitnick-11371668

The Threads app upcoming Mastodon Fediverse compatibility will be interesting given that Jack Dorsey has stated a similar (proprietary?) fediverse’ish architecture for BlueSkye as well.

It irks me how it’s sitting in the middle at an angle. Not aligned with any of the walls.

it’s crazy seeing sites i thought would never die in freefall twitter is the most obvious, but even reddit, a site that is the backbone of every niche hobby, is also going away would be weird if after all of this, we all just log off. “the social media age” being a weird blip socially in 20 years

Looking for a good way of periodically checking my twitter follows against bluesky as people slowly migrate over.
