For reference: Procedural generation is shuffling a deck and dealing from it. genAI is feeding every card deck you can find, including ones not for the game, into a wood chipper, slapping a handful of the bits on some glue, and pretending its a playable hand.

RPG Maker VX Ace is free on Steam right now. Go pick it up if you have even a passing interest. It's easy to dismiss RPG Maker as a factory of slop, but it really is a pretty incredible game creation engine that I've seen used in really creative and interesting ways before.
