I thought we were generally seen as big dumb goofy golden retrievers. Overly enthusiastic and irrationally exuberant as a people.

+1 waffles for dinner! I can’t find pearl sugar that I swear was in the pantry, so no fancy Liege-style waffles with crunchy sugar bits, sadly. But yay waffles

I’m stress baking. The more elaborate the process, the better. Laminated doughs are my favorite. bsky.app/profile/fcro...

To this day, I regret missing @pixiesofficial.bsky.social play at Oberlin in Dec. ‘91. I had a big ol’ term paper due the next day, so I was being “responsible.” Apparently David Bowie was in the audience. 😖

Did your cat show any interest at all? Or, being a cat, did he yawn and look at you instead?

I read the book during the summer of 2022, when Nikole Hannah-Jones was denied tenure at UNC. Reading about the Belfast Project, thinking about oral history, academia, and who gets to be a “real” historian. Such a loss, to have all those tapes destroyed.

Sigh. I use the “print” view so I can just see the ingredients and steps. No photos, no ads, no clutter

Previous years’ success below. This year I candied orange, lemon, and yuzu lemon peel. I was so excited for the floral notes from the yuzu. #breadsky
