Officially protesting against Research Gate‘s limit for following people. So many researchers I would like to follow there and can‘t!!!

The #EGU25 programme is now available! 🔎 You can filter the programme by selecting specific time blocks or using the search box to find keywords in session titles, descriptions, conveners, abstract titles and authors. 👉 Explore more here: egu.eu/1806BR

Rare opportunity.... a permanent observational oceanography position on offer at GEOMAR, one of the world's leading oceanographic centers www.geomar.de/en/karriere/...

Yes! Build your own CTD!

Working with a hot topic means checking papers everyday hoping no one has had the same idea as you. 🤡

The most iconic figure in the environmental sciences is the Keeling Curve, the CO₂ record from Mauna Loa, Hawaii. @noaa.gov had a wonderful site where you could visualize and download these data, and now it's just gone. These data belong to us and we should not let this happen!

Our preprint, led by Katherine Power, is out for public review! We did a super cool experiment to analyse the isolated albedo effect of massively reducing Greenland and Antarctic Ice sheets and forced the model with varying [CO2]. If you think that ice sheets are "not that important", think twice!

"É preciso parar de endeusar os magnatas da tecnologia e lembrar que eles só trabalham em benefício próprio”, diz Ailton Krenak search.app/525tWf75N1y1...

I think countries around the world should levy tariffs specifically on Tesla in response to US tariffs, as well as banning Twitter as a national security threat driving a wedge between our co-dictators may be the most effective thing they can do

Reading the news every night like “oh and I guess we’re all just expected to keep functioning through all this?”

"Resistance takes the form of lives well lived. In every laugh shared, in every new memory made and family photo taken, this clan honors those no longer physically present." www.latimes.com/entertainmen...

🎉🎉🎉 Woo hoo! 🎉🎉🎉 Amazing feat by the Beyond EPICA-Oldest Ice team! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... Smashing the 800,000 year record for a continuous ice core by a country mile back to 1.2 million years ago.

The „you don‘t need medicine“ culture really bothers me. No, when one is autistic, a headache is not just a headache. An allergy is not only a minor event. It is overwhelming. Too overwhelming!

Sea ice meets ocean eddies, part II! Folllowing @oceanographer.bsky.social's idea I used the data from my simulation (still #FESOM2 but 10km this time) to explore the flames of the frozen ocean. 🧊 🔥

Hi friends! I haven’t had many #DisabledInSTEM merch sales this whole year and would appreciate any support! I have A LOT of medical bills coming up. Your support helps me to pay my bills and focus on my advocacy, such as running the Mentorship Program! www.bonfire.com/store/disabl...

I bought the kindle scribe to read academic papers and my books. I can say I love the concept, but not the cumbersome method of storing and organizing them, the inability to lock the screen, the lack of colour and options to syncronize items +

Incredible!! I wish there would be more resources available for understanding neurodiversity when small Nana was still undiagnosed with autism. We still don‘t have enough, don‘t talk enough, don‘t reach out enough, but we are definitely moving forward! 💛

"Moreover, non-White scientists endure longer waiting times between the submission and acceptance of their manuscripts, and upon publication, their papers receive fewer citations than would be expected based on textual similarity."

"The word ‘coup’ has never been in my dictionary", Bolsonaro said He is not even lying, as he and the military use to call the last coup "democratic revolution"

So excited to see Bluesky growing, especially with so many amazing scientists joining!!

Ok, I’m loving the starter packs! This one is for women (inclusively defined) in Ocean Science. You need more ocean 🌊 in your feed! Follow these folks. If you would like to be added please just let me know 👋 … if I forgot you, please don’t be offended, it was an accident! go.bsky.app/7MdiLgo

🚨PhD project in paleoclimatology🚨 Come join our friendly team to investigate: “Tracking the biological response to the ancient South Asian monsoon: lessons from the past to inform the future” Sediment, foraminifera, geochemistry, biology… Pass it on! 🧪⚒️🌊🌍 www.exeter.ac.uk/study/fundin...

We strongly suggest that academic publishers and other platforms that host research rapidly implement a Share to Bluesky button for their articles. Here's how: docs.bsky.app/docs/advance... #AcademicSky #HigherEd #Altmetrics

An amazing workshop that now can be of inspiration to many other workshops ❤️

Wanting to share my first ever publication about the #DisabledInSTEM Mentorship Program! Hoping this inspires some more people to join the 2025 program! www.nature.com/articles/s41...

The ocean takes up anthropogenic CO₂ emissions, 26% on average over the past decade. The #GlobalCarbonBudget 2024 confirms that the ocean sink increased in 2023 after 3 years of stagnation due to rare triple La Niña event. 2023 was an El Niño year, with an expected increase in the sink. 🔽 🌊 1/10

All the news on the #GlobalCarbonBudget in the threads by @glenpeters.bsky.social @pfriedling.bsky.social and @robbieandrew.bsky.social :

The question at today‘s mini-conference, besides the amazing talks I got to see from my fellow PhD candidates, was: How is it possible that, in the 21st century, there are still inconsistencies in power point sharing that can completely ruin one‘s formatting and presentation????

🚨 Are you interested in how model past warm climates and how it is essential to understand future #climatechange? We are welcoming abstract submissions for #EGU25 in our session CL4.5 - Modelling past warm climates in the Earth System! meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU25/sessio...

Visiting any person I admire intellectually also means that I will probably take pictures of their books. A book collection tells so much about people!! What book has been a great read this year for you??

So yes, it is not only about the US

How about instead of asking a pregnant person whether they are expecting a boy or a girl, ask what is the name of the child? Why is gender such a big deal to people??

Coming back to Germany after a month in Brazil: From sunny October in Salvador to dark, cold, rainy October in Bremen. Jet lag + lack of light. How to work? How to get out of bed? How to get back to my routine? One more situation to add to my latin american expat struggles

If any of my climate science and life friends would like indigenous literature, my recommendation is Ailton Krenak. Especially „Life is not useful“. His writing is revolutionary and yet easy to read. We are part of nature!
