Friends if you haven't, do sth for trans people and fill out the EHRC consultation, it's still open for two hours. Check out those loaded questions too

And it's been free every since

the problem with proving that trans kids end up committing suicide is that dead trans kids aren't around to fill out the surveys you would typically use to measure such data.

I remember protesting alongside 50k students in Dublin in 2010 against the proposed increase in student fees from €1500 to €2000. This Govnt wants 2025-26 students to pay €3000, on top of extortionate rent if you're able to find a place to live. www.rte.ie/news/2025/06...

I fully believe Zohran Mamdani, at 9 years old, invented Twitter just to post this, then uninvented it and sold it to Jack Dorsey, again, at 9 years of age. Who wouldn't want a genius like that as mayor?!?!?

Even linkedin gets it

unreal freudian slip just dropped

Estimated 500.000 people in Budapest on the streets. Pride Parade was banned, but the people showed up. They face 500 Euro fine each. What a great sign of solidarity!!!

Straights, if you are attending Pride, I beg, walk faster.

Lexi Alexander is still banned. What the fuck are these people doing?

So International Protection services, which is a government operation, gave her a scholarship to attend TUD and now the government want to deport her mid-studies? And for what? To appease a few loud racists who won't be satisfied by anything short of seeing zero foreigners on the streets

They dumped slurry on the parade route

We have learned nothing. Vast cost overruns are not due to good design. They are due to no design. Also, why is our political system so aggressively mediocre?

Just found the guy who makes Jordan Peterson's suits and the fact his own suit looks awful on him is telling.

Sir Keir: "I've met lads like Kneecap before. They're the kind who'll smoke a bit of spliff in a Kentish Town beer garden and, when I threaten to report them to the police, make fun of the brassy timbre of my voice."

The physical abuse of children is as central to *and inherent in* right-wing politics as tax breaks for billionaires and racism.

Hani Mahmoud: 'Gaza Humanitarian Foundation' sites are death traps, not humanitarian centres.

Ireland needs dual track second level education - like Germany, Poland etc - to give kids interested in trades & skills clear path. Or - we could continue to hope they pick up masonary/plumbing skills via osmosis

Great news obvs, but non-Irish observers should be aware of the context that the Irish govt has been blocking opposition attempts to pass this *since 2018*, despite widespread public support and has only now conceded to passing a watered-down version - that bans goods but not services

If your MP is vocal on women’s rights but less so on disability, send them today’s Guardian story. Tell them charities have warned the disability cuts will have a “devastating” impact on women and could even breach the Equality Act.

Delighted for Zohran Mamdani, for the American left and for New York, it’s encouraging news, but the fact that they’ve gone through all that and he’s not even Mayor yet, it’s just a primary and we still have months left of this, is insane and dumb

Especially now that it appears IRGC hardliners are increasingly frustrated with the clerical elites and their "DiPlOmAcY"

FFG have always tried to bury the histories they don't like. It's the reason they let this happen, just as it's also why you won't see the fascist O'Duffy anywhere on the FG website.

Every smug roaring liberal in the uk went along with the far right going absolutely insane in the press, giggling along at being part of the gang and one of the lads. And, as a result, we're completely stuck now and nobody can achieve shit.

You love to see your "leader" being led by the nose by the US to run cover for a genocidal regime.

Iran’s foreign minister:

Notable that Daniel Ek upped his investment in war tech in the days before the US bombed Iran This is what your streaming subscription is paying for

From Gaza to the Democratic Republic of Congo, violence against children in conflict zones reached "unprecedented levels" in 2024, the United Nations has said.

DO NOT USE THIS. It will kill you.

The Nazis were also people. People who do monstrous violence against other human beings deserve every ounce of backlash that’s coming to them.

Bought myself a ring, but I'm not used to wearing rings so I'm just like this all this.

the lesson of this isn't that tucker carlson is actually good but that you should ask these people basic factual questions instead of bullshit about politics

🇮🇱 Israel: "We don't want war” ✅KiIIed the Gaza negotiator ✅KiIIed the negotiator’s family ✅KiIIed the Iranian negotiators ✅Bombed the capital of Iran ✅Bombed the capital of Lebanon ✅Invaded Lebanon ✅Invaded Syria They want peace 🤡

I totally get Edgar Allan Poe. If I was minding my business and some fuckass bird showed up at my house just to be like “Ay man, your girlfriend died! Forever bitchless!” I’d crash out too.

This is a reference to the iconic, Pulitzer-winning image of a Vietnam War protester. He later moved to SF, renamed himself Hibiscus and formed a drag troupe called the Cockettes. Happy Pride!

About "nonviolence"— The definition of "violence" is not neutral. What counts as violence is determined by those who control public discourse. This is why police can terrorize people without it registering as violence, while the slightest act of community defense is framed as "violence." 🧵⬇️

I told you we’d be back

I wish I had a group of local gay friends who come to my house and watch Bob's Burgers 😔

yep! unpaywalled:

So, there's a Discworld book for everything (sorry, special interest) and if you've not read Pratchett's The Night Watch, in which a small group of people in a city where a corrupt tyrant is attempting to overthrow and cause, well, civil unrest, it's actually a good time to read that, now.
