1. Our next Help Desk Day is on Monday 3rd March 10.00am - 12.00pm at Conisbrough Library. You will be able to access Find My Past and Ancestry websites for free and also the 1921 census. #genealogy #familyhistory

Poll books are interesting but in early years a comparative handful of influential residents were listed. Things improved by 1885 with many more people listed and in 1918 electoral books list most men over 21 and ladies over 30.

A little reminder that not everything is online. Transcriptions of parish records compiled by #FamilyHistory Societies and sold for a modest fee can be an excellent resource. I bought some this morning and have already used 25 records just for one family. I have other families still to look at.

Electoral registers and poll books are very useful for showing where your ancestors lived. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
