"Killer bees" or Africanized honey bees (AHB's) arrived in California's San Joaquin Valley in 1985, probably as stowaways in a shipment of oilfield pipe. They crossed into South Texas from Mexico in 1990. All of this starts in Brazil in 1956, with Warwick Estevam Kerr & research on African bees.
