The world is heaving with imbalance. The artificial constructs we live within are not created to sustain life longterm. They are crumbling underfoot. Those who have power are trying desperately to hold it together but this is a futile pursuit as nature always self-corrects.

Foreword of Postman's "Amusing Ourselves to Death" sketches out Orwell vs. Huxley competing visions of what dystopia in an information society would look like. I've often sided more w/the Huxley view (which is why I like Amusing Ourselves so much) but past 2 wks have been a big win for Team Orwell.
