Akron isn't going to be a 1:1 copy from EBF3, there will be some new tricks available in the fight as well! Akron will feature two new crystal types in Tough Love, with the first one shown here being Blue (Water)!

Something sinister is going on in here...

Got all of them implemented in! Still some things to tweak and adjust, but everything is looking good!

In case it wasn't obvious in the previous post... Akron is coming to Tough Love! Experience the fight... Tough Love style! Here is how his Dark Ball attack looks! Spent a lot of time polishing and updating it and I think it came out really well.

Something major is coming to Tough Love...

The Status Menu in Tough Love finally has an improved info display appearance! It's actually the same one used in battle when you hover over a status, but it is a major improvement over the previous one I had used for the menu.

Narwhals?!?!

Adding in some more spells into Tough Love! Three to be specific, one is completely new and the other two can be seen in EBF4. This is the spell The Creator could use in EBF4, but now it can be used by your Thunder Bird summon!

Reworked GUOYE summon to be like Jack's summon from EBF4! Now gives all allies + backup 25% limit break charge! Should make GUOYE a lot more valuable of a summon.

Updated the Jelly flee animation! This was easily the hardest one to do (funny enough), a little janky still but a lot better than what it was before.

Updated Skull Ghost flee animation! Same idea as before, but now with more lively (undead ?) movement! Basically same as the spell cast, but they cast an escape spell on themselves.

Spent some time today updating flee animations for some of the Tough Love Foes. A lot of them are either from their EBF4 summons (if they have one), or other animations they already have that fit the theme. Only one left to improve is Jellies, not entirely sure how yet though.

I ended up removing the Death Hastens Cheat and moved Even Rewards back onto the Cheats side to make way for a new Challenge option that some people have been asking for...

Here are the new Cat Toys for NoLegs! As per usual things can change with them, but I am happy with how they turned out.

Here are the four new Cat Toys! Cat Toys tend to be the most fun to work with, especially since you can come up with some real goofy ideas with them.

Random element has its own Hidden Power visual now! I tried to make it not so eye-straining, so I basically added way more frames of each colour so it wouldn't flicker too fast.

Here are some of the new weapon designs available to Natalie in Tough Love!

Common thing in the past I was told is the fact that would be nice for TL to have more weapons not usable/seen in previous games. So here are some Sword type weapons for Matt that he could not use in previous games! (The scythe could be used by Natalie in EBF4 but not by Matt)

New bows! Once again these are not finalized, so changes are still likely to happen with them. Compared to everyone else Anna sure got some goofy looking weapons this time around.

Some of the guns have been adjusted since I posted them before, so here are those! Will be implementing in the new bows soon.

Implemented in the new guns! These are still subject to change as usual, but I think I have them in a spot where I am happy with them.

I implemented in the Staves! I actually implemented them in last night, but I forgot to post them until now. Still things to be finished, but they are functional at least! Stats and effects are subject to change.

Overlooked part of 5 I feel is the fact each Matt weapon has a color set for it for use in spells like Quick Slash, Unleash, and Cleaver. Here are the colors for the new four Swords! A lot of times they tend to be grey and black, so is nice to have some color variety at times.

Implemented in the new swords! Still lots of work to be done (such as recipes, sounds, trail colors), otherwise they are fully functional in-game! Stats and such are close to final, but are subject to change.

Matt is a better shot than Lance, apparently!

Cooked up some new Staves for Natalie! None of these are Staves, actually... I lied to you all. Because Matt let's Natalie hold anything in 5 and deems it a "Staff", so can I!

I ended up deciding against adding in the Devil's Flame and instead I am adding in a different sword. It may be familiar to many of you...

Cooking up some new pew pews for Tough Love! Two completely new ones, and two returning ones. Fun part of adding in previous game sprites is making their outlines thicker to match the newer art style.

Cooking up some new... bows(?) in Tough Love! Ideas came from @iltalegends.bsky.social (with their permission of course, although all ideas have been adjusted to my liking.

May or may not be cooking some stuff up for Tough Love...

Ended up changing my Alpha Headband flair to give Conjure status/Conjure on Defend (mainly since I removed Conjure from Lock On and Gemstone Construct summon)

Finally was able to add in a feature to the Retaliation status that I have been wanting for a long time, and that is it letting Players counter-attack without the need for a counter-attacking weapon! They just always use Normal Attack in this case!

Updated the Vengeance status again! This time it now gives a +20% damage increase at all times and gives +20% more damage for each dead ally (up to a maximum of 2x damage in total for both the Player side and Foe side). More focus on the dead ally aspect now.

Every time I have to rename a status or add in a new one the order of this menu changes. Anyways here is the latest Status Menu order. Main differences are the fact Catalyst (formerly Explosive) is now listed in Neutrals and Fear (formerly Drown) shifted spots.

Crush has been reworked! I think the new effect is pretty interesting and fitting for the name.

Currently reworked statuses in the next test build of Tough Love! Jinx has taken on Explosive's effect, while Singularity has taken on Jinx's effect (more thematically appropriate I think) While Blind and Fear (formerly Drown) have completely new effects.

Doing massive status changes in Tough Love right now. Currently Blind, Drown (now known as Fear), Jinx, and Singularity have been altered heavily. I plan on also altering Crush and Explosive (likely to be renamed) soon as well.

Reworked Drown status so that it is no longer a different style of Doom status (although I will miss that idea a bit) Now it "drowns" your limit bar by remove 10% limit every turn you have the status! Pretty evil stuff if you ask me.

Blind now completely messes up your ability to target properly! It also affects foe targeting in some ways as well (some foes are more affected than others) Currently also still has the 50% accuracy reduction, so yeah pretty painful stuff.

I have been updating Blind so that it makes you unable to aim properly. Also going to have this effect work on foes, basically making their behaviours for specific targeting and such just aim randomly as well

Being afflicted with the Blind status now makes your "Miss" DamageNumbers look evil. I thought it was a fun flavour idea for the status, so it now exists!

Quick Decay was just an idea that was slapped in with no thought put into it, so once 2.13 of TL officially released (this year hopefully), only those who played TL early enough would have experienced it.

Shoutout to the Disorient QoL changes I was given as feedback! Feedback can be pretty helpful when it comes to many things for TL tbh.
