Multiple myeloma is what killed my grandma. I dearly wish she’d been able to participate in a trial like this, and I also dearly hope this kind of research continues & gets whatever funding it needs.

Public outcry does work! Don’t let anyone tell you we’re doomed no matter what.

My grandma accumulated so much jewelry over the course of her life. Most of it wasn’t super fancy or anything you’d put in a safe deposit box, but it was all meaningful to her. This is one little necklace I inherited. She loved rainbows, and so do I. 🌈

Honored by my cats’ gift of carefully arranged toys on the couch. This is a collaborative collection courtesy of Cora and Pearl (who hate each other, but are apparently ok working together as colleagues on occasion). Oh and the towel is because they like to sit on it and drool when they’re relaxed.

Car in front of us while commuting had a QR code on the back. I resisted scanning it for a moment, figuring it was probably a RickRoll or some kind of ad, but curiosity got the better of me and it led to a page that simply said “FUCK TRUMP”. I LOLed, that was actually pretty clever.

Same. 🖤

It’s weird, I am a reluctant traveler but it’s mostly for logistical reasons. My worst fear isn’t turbulence, but missed connections/ruined plans. I actually find the turbulence kind of fun? It feels like a carnival ride and I know it’s unlikely to actually hurt anyone.

Once in petco I was (with permission) taking photos of mice for a project. They had 2 mouse enclosures, one had about 50 mice in it; the store employee said, “those are the female mice”, then pointed to another enclosure with a single mouse in it and said “…and that’s the male mouse”. 🐁

Airport tier list, per the cross country trip I just got back from: S: Burlington (BTV) A: Salt Lake City (SLC) C: Atlanta (ATL) D: JFK

Autistics who love traveling, tell me what you love about it. Maybe it will help me not be so 😬 about an upcoming trip.

Wheezing

Almost through my DS9 rewatch and I have to say, I didn’t recall the delightful extent to which S7 consists of Damar and Weyoun just being catty bitches to each other. Excellent workplace comedy, peaking when Worf shows up and does the thing.

These are not serious people. The Dunning Kruger administration.

I mean of course they violated due process, but glad to see SCOTUS not being completely deranged on this front.

Maybe it’s a good thing I don’t work in the Capitol because I (as a facilities manager with access to many tools) would just hang it up anyway and dare them to take it down. 🤷🏻‍♀️

One of my best friends literally died due to policies that “did not directly” seek to reduce benefits for people with disabilities but resulted in years-long medical neglect regardless. Indirect barriers to receiving necessary care are absolutely deadly, and disabled people know this.

I’m sorry but plenum spaces are some of the most beautiful things in existence (this is the space above my office). 🖤 At least if you’re one of those backrooms weirdos like I am.

Pan’s Labyrinth. (I *want* to watch it again sometime because it was amazing, but I haven’t been able to yet.)
