The Auditorium in Barcelona is pretty cool! And today's program is top-tier

🚀 New paper out! We introduce communicability geometry for signed networks, proposing new tools and frameworks for the analysis of signed datasets. 📊🔍 www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... What does that mean? And why should you care? 🧵👇

Would you like to engage in scientific communication for the general public? In Siena during @css-conference.bsky.social it will be your occasion! 4 scientists will be chosen and coached by Scienza Coatta to step into the spotlight of a big event-show-scientific quiz. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Going into the sloppy models rabbit hole, I'm still not sure if this is some type of cult, but we will see 🙃

The team is growing 🙌🏼 I’m now hiring a Postdoc to join a collaborative effort to better understand the interplay between social environments, brain function, cognitive structures and mental health outcomes. We will evaluate on a rolling basis. northeastern.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/GBR_NULondon...

Soy yo, o el titular es un poco capcioso? Imagino que los investigadores podrán seguir publicando en open access pagando las fees o subiendo el artículo a arxiv. Y conociendo a Elsevier, a saber qué precio estaban exigiendo al CSIC...

After the great CS3 congress, it's time to take advantage of being in Madrid to go to the Auditorium and hear Brahms' 1st :)

🚨New paper alert! 🚨 How do echo chambers form in signed networks? 🤔 A new study by @avdeville.bsky.social and myself explores the role of structural balance in shaping information flows and inducing echo chambers. 🧵👇

Winter in Prague

❄️ The IFISC representation at the 10th edition of the Winter Workshop on Complex Systems sends us (not so) warm greetings from Rifugio Madonna delle Nevi (Lombardy, Italy)!

Grat position under the supervision of a great researcher!

I’m looking for a new PhD student with a curious and interdisciplinary mindset to work on integrating multimodal data to better understand trajectories of mental and brain health disorders! Deadline of applications: Feb 16! Please spread the word. www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DLO680/f...

Today, we had the pleasure of hearing Alessandro Galeazzi, Assistant Professor at the University of Padova, share his insights on Unveiling Echo Chambers and Users’ Opinions on Online Social Media. A fantastic talk that sparked great questions—grazie mille, @galessandro.bsky.social !

Congrats @fernandodiazdiaz.bsky.social , it was a true pleasure to be part of your committee, I really recommend people taking a look at your thesis! Wishing you the best of luck for your next steps!

I just went to hear Mahler’s Songs of a Wayfarer, but I definitely wan't expectong liking so much Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living. Totally blew me away—might be my favorite requiem now.

Yesterday, I successfully defended my PhD thesis on the structure and dynamics of signed networks. Many thanks to my supervisors @smelons.bsky.social and Ernesto, to the amazing jury, and to @ifisc.uib-csic.es for having me during these three and a half years!

Congratulations to the new doctor @fernandodiazdiaz.bsky.social and his supervisors Ernesto Estrada and @smelons.bsky.social It has been great to take part of the evaluation panel of an excellent PhD thesis on the structure and dynamics of signed networks at @ifisc.uib-csic.es
