Hello, #booksky people. As something of a writer myself, I wish to share my technique for writing better, in two easy steps: Step 1. Write. You have to actually write. I know it sounds strange, but you can't improve your writing if you don't write. Step 2. Take what you wrote, and make it better.

Never trust anyone who demands planethood for Pluto but won't show the same courtesy to Eris, Haumea, Makemake, Gonggong, Quaoar, Ceres, Orcus, and Sedna. Pluto is truly remarkable and deeply fascinating, but not in a fundamentally unique way to make it any more special than any other dwarf planet.

If you used generative "AI" to create your book's cover, I'm going to assume you put just as little care into its contents.

I actually do think it's funny when people who treat trading cards as investments lose money. I just get Yu-Gi-Oh cards I like and want to have, and then I keep them because I like having them.

#OtD 25 Apr 1945 Milan and Turin were liberated from fascism following workers' uprisings and a general strike. The date has since been celebrated as Italy's annual 'Day of Liberation'. Learn more in our podcast series on the Italian resistance: stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/9705...

What are the qualifications for "Best comic funny" as seen on Facebook?

I've been writing so much that I've been neglecting my social media duties.

Since lots of people, including liberals and leftists, seem to struggle with this: COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT IS A WAR CRIME FOR A REASON. IT'S FUCKING EVIL. You don't punish people for the sins of their government or kids for the sins of their parents. And human rights belong to ALL humans.

posting this again but now with the recent court ruling here and the prime minister openly stating trans people have no right to use gendered spaces im now thinking of making this a fund to help me flee the uk now www.gofundme.com/f/help-me-pa...

No matter how hard fascists try to suppress the truth, they still can't force reality to conform. Queer, trans, and intersex people will still exist. The climate will still change. Diseases being ignored will still persist. Capitalism will still be unsustainable. And their lies will still be lies.

The fascists don't care about the truth, only that they have the power. The cruelty is the point. The hypocrisy is the point. The dishonesty is the point. It doesn't matter what the law says when they control how it's interpreted and enforced. Get this into your minds now if you want to defeat them.

If your idea of resistance is focused solely on Trump and his cronies, you're failing to confront the systems that have enabled them to exploit the problems that were always there. You can't meaningfully resist fascism without addressing liberal complacency and complicity in their rise to power.

Some simple but important lessons on power for the people of the United States: 1. Regardless of the law, the President's power functionally extends as far as people are willing to comply, so 2. He can do whatever he wants if no one stops him, but 3. He only has power as long as people obey orders.

The constant barrage of awful things is overwhelming. It's meant to be. That's the point. It's okay to take time to just focus on your own personal well-being. Things are bad, yes, but if we want to make things better and help others, we must be able to help ourselves. Self-care is important.

Don't let fascists take away your ability to have fun. Enjoy hobbies and creative pursuits, and find time for leisure when possible. Don't let them make you feel bad for seeking out entertainment in tough times. You need to be able to enjoy life, especially to remember that it's worth fighting for.
