That’s right. Here, chocolate Easter eggs are never off the shelves, and you can usually find a hot cross bun somewhere in a supermarket. Mind you, a good, fresh HCB with really cold butter spread thickly from the fridge…

In the supermarket today there was a pile of packs of alliterative hot cross buns. I said to the cashier “Easter next week, is it?” “Yeah” she grinned, “and probably Christmas the week after“.

I think they've been spending too much time reading American economic websites. There's been A LOT of papers coming out recently (and NYT articles etc) saying that wealth inequality isn't actually an issue as long as people have access to enough "stuff" Its yet another defence of American capitslism

In Scotland the SNP does this consistently, has done for years. Worsening population age profiles are routinely cited, exacerbated by loss of services since people were forced to leave by Brexit. If we want a functioning NHS, we need immigration. Same applies to many other industries.
