Apologies to anyone who'd been planning to travel to Glasgow for the Kane Gang show at St Luke's. We've had to postpone it - it'll now be on Sunday 6th April. Wishing Martin all the best as he gets back to full fitness.

πŸ˜‚ "too long". Anyway, our brass album will be widely available soon.

As Friday night was our first ever trip to Dingwalls (backing up The Kane Gang) and in a couple of weeks it'll be our first ever visit to the Union Chapel, we had a bit of a laugh in the van trying to remember every venue we've ever played in London. Monarch, Falcon, Enterprise, Koko, 93 Ft East...

A big thank you to @stuartmaconie.bsky.social for spinning (I Keep Thinking About) A New Thing on BBC 6Music on Sunday and for mentioning our upcoming Celtic Connections show. Our run of gigs starts on Thursday in Sunderland and goes through til the 8th Feb in London. Info here: field-music.co.uk

Less than 20 tickets left for FM @ Pop Recs - if you wanna come, get on it tout suite.

ANNOUNCEMENT: We've added a Sunderland warm-up show to the tour itinerary. We'll be at @poprecsltd.bsky.social on Thursday 30th Jan, supported by Oldman. Tickets on sale now. www.musicglue.com/pop-recs-ltd/

Well, this was unexpected. Thanks so much to Justin Hawkins for devoting a chunk of his time to our music. What a lovely, lovely fella. www.youtube.com/watch?v=99of...

It's now less than 4 weeks til our UK tour kicks off, taking in Glasgow, Carlisle, Leeds, Manchester, Brighton and London. We'll be joined for all shows by The Golden Dregs. Ticket links for all shows are on our website: field-music.co.uk/.../limits-o...

In April we'll have the privilege of helping our pal Ross "Futureheads" Millard perform the music for this grand theatrical collaboration with the National Theatre at @thefirestation.bsky.social.

Happy New Year everyone! Before I get down to real work of touting all the gigs we've got coming up, I'm going to recommend (again) an alternative to the big streamers. I've been using Qobuz for a while - it's like having a record collection on your computer. I love it. www.qobuz.com/gb-en/discover

Two more gigs with The Kane Gang coming up in the new year!

If you haven't quite had your fill of me and Peter talking about stuff, you can now listen to our interview with Birthday Cake for Breakfast. It's daft but detailed - everything from dodgy knees to metal to the SNES to harmonic research: birthdaycakebreakfast.wordpress.com/2024/12/17/l...

Btw Qobuz who pay their artists the most per stream are doing a 30 day free trial atm

The first in a series of mini-Field Musicasts is now live. We're going to go through the new album track by track, lyrics and music and general wanging on. Here's Six Weeks, Nine Wells: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/l...

By sheer coincidence, or possibly terrible planning, things are about to get extremely podcastastic around here. Today our chat with Matt Royal for the Sending Signals podcast has gone live, next week we're featured in a Birthday Cake for Breakfast and, if that wasn't enough,...

Well, that was a really fun thing to be involved in - raising loads of money & playing amazing songs with our best pals (and some new pals too). Big love to @frankiefrancis.bsky.social, @thelakepoets.bsky.social and to the Fire Station and Sunderland Music City for making it happen. πŸ“· Thomas Jackson

I can say definitively that the set list for the show on Sunday is God tier. I can't say definitively that we'll play everything right.

Super proud of the whole Young Musicians Project team (esp my missus) and of YMP alumnus Isabel Maria, who won cute little wooden trophies at #necultureawards last night. They made it happen by slogging away, embracing their community and always trying to make it good. 😘

Once again, by accident mostly, it looks like we're going to be Sunderland's House Bandℒ️- this time with lots of lovely folk raising money for the Love, Amelia charity. The theme is Live Aid. So, which Live Aid performance should we tee up for Dec 8th? www.thefirestation.org.uk/whats-on/295...

Check it out in @electronicsound.bsky.social. Thanks @bobfischer.bsky.social!

Wow. It's great that so many of you are over here now. Would be a good time for me to come up with A grade material. But until then, Hold Me Now by the Thompson Twins is a really cool record.

As well as everything else going on, today is also the release day for FM keyboard darling Liz Corney's debut album. I had the pleasure of helping her put together these 34 minutes of pure Liz-ness and I'm overjoyed it's finally out in the world: lizcorney.bandcamp.com/album/we-nee...
