A police crackdown is underway against civil society organizations in Serbia, allegedly investigating fraud related to USAID grants. www.nedeljnik.rs/tuzilastvo-p...

At the kind invitation of the Student Plenum of the Faculty of Security Studies, I took part in an excellent roundtable discussion today on the necessity of a democratic reset—not only of the security sector in Serbia but of the entire political system. We stayed for nearly two and a half hours!

Serbia doesn’t have a foreign agents law, but the regime already acts as if it does. One instrument of political persecution against critics is investigating them for money laundering. This has happened before, and now they’ve turned to ProGlas. @amnestyuk.bsky.social radar.nova.rs/drustvo/upra...

The Serbian regime spins protests as a Western-backed coup to the East and a Russian plot to the West. In reality, they’re neither—just young people demanding democracy and the rule of law.

My interview on the student protests in Serbia for TVP World @tvp.info youtu.be/oaMFXfsa_b4?...

After the historic protests in Novi Sad, gatherings continued yesterday and today across Serbia. One of these took place today in front of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade organized by a network of professors and researchers who support student requests called Rebelled University.

This was probably the biggest protest in the history of Novi Sad! Amazing atmosphere, great energy, high hopes for Serbia’s democracy!

The main pro-regime tabloid features on its cover page an alleged message from Putin: “Serbs, stick with Vučić!”

Yesterday, hundreds of students marched from Belgrade to Novi Sad where a big protest gathering is about to begin. Its exactly three months since the collapse of the train station in Novi Sad. For all those who cannot be there students will broadcast live coverage here: uns.blokada.info

President Vučić is the real boss and another round of rigged snap elections is not going to solve the crisis. Serbia needs free and fair elections www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...? Thanks @theguardian.com for covering this story but its another article without interlocutors from Serbia.

No wonder the Chinese MFA supports Vučić amid student protests! One should not forget that the reconstruction of the railway station in Novi Sad, where a roof collapse killed 15 people on November 1, was part of the Belt and Road project – the Belgrade-Subotica Railway. report.az/en/amp/other...

Its great to see that @theguardian.com has finally published a piece about student protests in Serbia. With all due respect, next time I hope that they will actually talk to someone from the country. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

Another massive 24h-long student gathering is under way in Autokomanda junction in Belgrade. More about the student protests in Serbia and how to help: podrzistudente.org?lang=en

Students who have been protesting and blockading all public universities in Serbia since last November have announced a 24-hour blockade of the Autokomanda interchange, starting on Monday at 10 a.m. (CET).

Around 50k citizens gathered today in front of Serbia’s public broadcaster, demanding objective reporting. This is part of a larger anti-corruption student mobilisation which started in November. On Monday, many schools will go on strike. Serbia appears to be sliding toward a general strike.

Student protests continue to shake the regime of Aleksandar Vučić in Serbia. 28,000 people showed up today in front of the Constitutional Court. This is time I supported them from the balcony!

I wrote a small piece for University Times, giving an overview of #protests and #blockades in #Serbia Two months since the railway station collapse in Novi Sad and more than a month of #students giving #hope for accountability and democracy in #Serbia universitytimes.ie/2024/12/stud...

Serbia’s President Vučić has threatened the opposition with his 17,000 loyalists, led by his brother. These pro-Russian supporters are reportedly ready to spill blood to defend the regime. This is alarming! The West must stop turning a blind eye before it’s too late. n1info.rs/english/news...

Students in #Serbia gave a true lession in #democracy to the entire nation. #Student-led #protests are self-organised, structured by principles that allow free discussion among equal participants and they result in solid and legitimate democratic outcome.

Serbia is in a "digital prison." We have an increasing number of people protesting in the streets every day. If the goal of these spyware attacks is to prevent this from happening, it is clearly failing. @igorbandovic.bsky.social for @apnews.com on the @amnesty.org report. 👇🏻

With 100,000 protesters, the student-led demonstration against corruption held on Sunday in downtown Belgrade was one the largest rallies in Serbian history. The future’s in the air!
