Yesterday, I found my Dad passed away. It was very sudden. He was a wonderful, warm, caring person who taught me patience, humor, and kindness. I thought we would have many more years to make even more memories, but I'm forever grateful for the ones I have. I love you, Dad.

That about summarizes it. It was sudden enough that, as I was driving over to check on him, I was sure his cellphone was just on mute. While I don't have the emotional capacity to reach out to everyone who has sent sympathies, I really do appreciate everyone's kind words today. Thank you.

I was excited to see several bald eagles here recently, plus a few pileated woodpeckers, AND trumpeter swans. Then today, in the span of 30 seconds, we ran into both a killdeer squeaking at us on the ground and an osprey flying overhead. Human life is wild, but our bird luck has been booming. ✨🦅🐦‍⬛🪿
