#MedicaidMatters.   For our families. For our seniors. For our neighbors with disabilities.   It's more than a program — it's a lifeline for 80 million Americans.   We can’t let Republicans dismantle this vital resource just to cut billionaires’ taxes.

when he sends citizens to foreign concentration camps, it’s no longer a slide to authoritarianism—it’s full blown fascism! 😔 this is not an administration, it’s a criminal regime in a hostile takeover of 🇺🇸 democracy. #FightFascism #TraitorTrump #DefendLiberty 🔔

Then resign

The good news is that the constitution provides ways for Congress and the Judiciary to reign in a power-hungry president. The bad news is those people are all scared of him.

I think saying "in America, everyone is innocent until proven guilty" works better for low-info normies than saying "due process" does

China cuts off America's crucial supply of rare earth minerals, forcing us to look elsewhere for that sweet gadolinium

Whenever Republicans get a chance, they go after health care. Why? Because they believe access to care should be a privilege reserved for the wealthy and powerful. Today, I met with community health center leaders in Framingham to say Hands Off Medicaid!

Trump will reportedly end the IRS Direct File program that allowed taxpayers to file taxes for free. This comes after Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, lobbied the government for years to block IRS free file. Intuit donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration. See how this works?

The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to end routine food safety inspections.

The Trump regime's repeated attacks on "DEI," "wokeness," immigrants, and the trans community have one clear purpose: If we are angry at each other, we don't look up to see how big corporations and billionaires have rigged markets and siphoned off most of the economy's gains.

Trump’s attack on the American mind — on education, science, libraries, and museums — is an attack on the capacity of Americans for self-government. Democracy depends on people knowing what’s occurring around them and having the capacity to deliberate critically about it.

I just met with the Vice President of El Salvador as we fight for the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. I’m speaking to the press now with the latest on our efforts. Tune in here:

"But as a Black woman, and as someone who works every day to expand access to voting, I can tell you this isn’t about security. It’s about control." Read Elise Roberts of Supermajority's op-ed for COURIER ⬇️

🚨BREAKING: Judge finds flying migrants to El Salvador after orders not to "demonstrate a willful disregard for its Order, sufficient for the Court to conclude that probable cause exists to find the Government in criminal contempt." Visit www.democracydocket.com for full details and analysis.

All In with Chris Hayes did an EXCELLENT segment with Alex Wagner reporting on the current state of Social Security, and it is terrifying if you currently receive your reimbursement checks! PLEASE watch and then call your elected representatives to say hands off our Social Security!

Today I'm finding out which people believe that if you're part of a population that is a small overall percentage of humans on the planet, it's okay to strip you of rights. I wonder if they have considered how easy it would be to classify *them* into a small overall percentage, and do it to them.

Scared to talk to your constituents?

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia. I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

If Trump can disappear legal residents without due process, what’s to stop him from doing the same to U.S. citizens who oppose him? Either everyone has due process — or no one does.

Jeff Bezos has enough money to send Katy Perry and Gayle King on a joyride to space for 11 minutes. He can afford to pay his fair share in taxes.

💯

Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski says the quiet part out loud: “We are all afraid… I am oftentimes very anxious about using my voice because retaliation is real.”

The head of our country’s government is in the early stages of consolidating total power. We must of course reject this, but that is not enough. We have to respond by creating a different and better kind of American politics than we have seen before.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The Supreme Court will hear arguments on Trump's effort to end birthright citizenship on May 15, presumably with a ruling to come before the justices begin their summer recess at the end of June.

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism. If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone. Americans of conscience must stand against this now.

Get yourself a senator willing to rescue you in a foreign country after your messy president wrongfully deports you… …seems like a sentence I shouldn’t have to write in 2025 but here we are. Senator Chris Van Hollen leaves for El Salvador tomorrow to initiate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

It is really bothering me (understatement) that the message is “bring back that one innocent guy” and not “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK SHUT DOWN THIS WHOLE OPERATION IMMEDIATELY.”

Citizens United is among the worst decisions in history. It corrupts our system every day.

Governor Josh Shapiro is back in action just days after the horrific attack

Marjorie Taylor Greene held a town hall in suburban Atlanta last night where she said she would "fight for [Trump's] agenda with everything I have in Congress.” As people in the audience dissented, they were forcibly removed, resulting in three arrests.

I suggest everyone become very, very familiar with this piece by law Professor @david.noll.org. I suspect you will be referring to it often. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/if-t...

If you paid $1 In federal income taxes, you paid more than: Tesla in 2024 & 2022 AT&T in 2021 Nike in 2020 FedEx in 2020 Dish Network in 2020 Amazon in 2017-2018 Elon Musk in 2018 Jeff Bezos in 2007 & 2011 Carl Icahn in 2016-2017 Yes. It’s time to tax the rich.

AOC: I saw on Fox, Jeanine Pirro says that they found so many babies and two year olds and four year olds receiving social security. I got a notice for you Jeanine Pirro: those babies receive social security because their parents died. That’s not a waste. That’s humanity. That’s America.

Just in:

History teaches us that the way to stand up to a dictator is to fight back against him, not capitulate to him. Surrendering to tyranny invites more of it. This moment we're in should not be met with a "moderate" response. Luckily, some Democrats starting to understand this.

Trump is requiring the United Kingdom to get rid of laws protecting LGBTQ people before he will agree to a trade deal with them.

HAPPY TAX DAY! How much would you spend on a year of tornado warnings? The average US taxpayer spends only $4 a year to help fund the NWS. It’s a smart investment—every $1 invested in NWS yields approx. $73 in social benefits. 🌪️❄️ Support science. Support the NWS. Stay tuned for more this #TaxDay

I can't emphasize enough that the most important thing journalists can do right now is publish exactly this kind of article

No kid should go hungry. Period. But Republicans are slashing school meals and vital nutrition programs to fund their billionaire tax breaks. I visited Belmont High to see their nutrition program in action and to stand up for every student's right to a healthy future.
