I’ve just done my semi-regular hunt through emails & some search terms on BlueSky, updating the website in which I keep track of library conference, & hashtags where possible. It’s great to learn of the fascinating librarian & related events occurring. Please make use, share & let me know of others!

Our adult nonfiction person thought this one might be of interest to me… heck yeah it is! I was so hoping I’d see an ARC! If you haven’t seen @cosbrarian.bsky.social ‘s fairy tale videos they’re hilarious and super insightful, inclusive, thoughtful. And she’s a librarian!

Goodreads is hosting a giveaway for an ARC of my debut book F*cked Up Fairy Tales from @wwnorton.com! www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...

I do love looking at pretty graphs. 😅 Thank you to Storygraph. #booksky

It is MerMay, and I am gonna do my best to draw a mermaid every day of the month. Here’s the first one, a little freebie, a little treat. www.patreon.com/posts/127928...

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

And if my mood reading doesn't distract me (it often does!) these are some titles I'm hoping to read soon: OXFORD JOJU CLUB, GIRL IN THE CREEK, A QUEER CASE, and THE STARVING SAINTS. #ewgc

COLIN GETS PROMOTED AND DOOMS THE WORLD is a fun, quirky novel of corporate politics, elder things from beyond, and many bad decisions. Read this if you've ever conjured up revenge fantasies after being mistreated at work and wonder what could happen if you unleashed your mean side (some) #ewgc

KATABASIS by Kuang probably needs no introduction, but I found myself profoundly moved and, sort of strangely educated at the same time? Plus I have to love any kind of academic satire after years of grad school. Parts of that book keep resonating in my brain and it's been weeks. #ewgc #booksky

Jackson's THE MACABRE is a dark fantasy novel for fans of Warehouse 13 and horror like Turhan's Their Monstrous Hearts. A man discovers he has power over his ancestor's paintings and needs to enter them to unlock their secrets before they're used by an evil, secret organization. #ewgc

I know this is YA, but if you are Arsenic and Adobo, Veronica Mars, or Mindy McGinnis fans, you've GOT to read DEATH IN THE CARDS. It's so good that I know I'm going to be just as addicted to this series! Solid mystery with tarot that's useful, but doesn't feel like a magical cheat. #ewgc #booksky

Tesh's INCANDESCENT feels like two great novels in one -- first, an adventuresome magical boarding school story told from the teacher's standpoint and later more of a fantasy psychological thriller with great character work. Listened to the Netgalley audio and loved the narrator! #ewgc #booksky

Only a few days heads up for Grant's OVERGROWTH, but as expected, McGuire/Grant creates an inclusive and incredibly well thought out invasion story. What if the body snatchers let us know decades in advance they were coming... and no one believed them? #ewgc #booksky
