Ugh the kettle just burst

It's the last couple of days of this Bookfunnel group promo of shorter m/m romances - perfect for a coffee break or reading in bed! Don't miss out... books.bookfunnel.com/twohourpower...

Pity I can't find something as amazing as this in my trash... 😆 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I spent some time going through old photos, especially of the Lake District, to find projects for my artwork. This cheeky seagull, parking in a 'no parking' zone at Lakeside (on Windermere), is next on the list!

Two #WW2 stories - women of courage and men who sacrifice their sense of self for others. #Booksky #KindleUnlimited #HistoricalFiction mybook.to/LIFELINE mybook.to/OCCUPATION

Dear #BookSky can you help us find our lost audience? We left 140,00 people behind on X and we want to reconnect!

Linda reviews "Take Some Tahini" by Karenna Colcroft: "This is a wonderful series... Great characters, explicit sex, danger, betrayal, surprises and secrets make this series a must-read. 5 stars." www.queeromanceink.com/2025/02/17/r... #GayRomance #Paranormal

QRI's upcoming queer romance releases: Sums of the Heart Sam E. Kraemer MMM The Devil On My Chest Lisa Oliver MM Two Thousand Promises Jocelynn Drake MM Daddy's Little Dreamer TL Travis MM Our Complication Alexandra Y. Caluen MMM Color You In K. Evan Coles MM Barista Brewed Love Beck Lewis MM

Another example of appalling media bias. This German story makes a big play that an attacker was a Syrian immigrant and totally buries the fact that the big hero of the day was another Syrian immigrant who rammed the attacker with his food delivery truck to save lives. A far better story.

"£2.99 is a bit pricy. I'll wait till it drops to 99p." Said no one ever about a latte! So why do we expect books to be that cheap? It's something I hear a lot. We all do it (me too when the Daily Deal email appears) but if a coffee is worth £2.99, surely an author is too. #books #reading #booksky📚💙

Anyone else having problems getting into #Bookfunnel today? I can't access it on my phone or my laptop... *tears out hair*

We're getting the last 3 non-double glazed windows replaced today so 1, I've been booted out of my study and am managing on a laptop on the sofa and 2, there are wide open spaces where those windows used to be. In Cumbria. In February. *turns blue* It should be warmer when it's finished, though...

What a fascinating discovery. There's so much similarity between Cumbria and the Scandi countries (language, place names) - it's interesting to see where the Norse settlers actually lived... www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Here’s a Valentines treat - a free short story with a fun twist in the tail. In 'Coffee for a Kiss', Dan gets more than he bargained for when the barista at his local coffee shop suggests he pays for his latte with a kiss - but all may not be what it seems! www.prolificworks.com/discover/aut...

Nice trip to Ulverston this morning - it's a really old market town and fascinating to poke round. We found snowdrops in the churchyard, and a wonderful old advertising sign painted on one of the shops in the town centre. I'm wondering what Abbey Sauce tasted like!

Had a blustery, cold but dramatically-lit walk along the prom at Grange over Sands the other day - and saw a raven flying overhead!

Oxfam shops are selling Zatoun brand bar soap hand-made in Palestine at the moment - smells lovely, reduces plastic waste and supports Gaza all in one! #goodcause #oxfam

That was fun! Last night's Art Society included a demo/workshop on "acrylics with textures" - involving much experimenting with eggshells, sand, glue, and paint. I haven't got that messy since primary school!!

What a dumpsterfire of a year it's been so far! My very gay very smutty book releases in two weeks though, so that's some good news...! 💙📚 #mmromance #gayromance #lgbtq #books #historicalromance #romancenovels

The gorgeous residential Gladstone’s Library Writer in Residence programme provides space and resources for up to four writers whose work engages with liberal values in the broadest sense. Writers at all stages of their career can apply. Please share :) www.gladstoneslibrary.org/events/write...

It's my birthday \(' . ')/ May I ask for a few RPs?

The Society for #OnePlaceStudies is going on tour! We will be attending the #Manchester and #Lancashire #FamilyHistory Society's Spring Family and #LocalHistory fair in Manchester Central Library on 22nd March 2025 between 10:30 and 15:00. #OnePlaceWednesday 🧵 1/3

Alright, which of you ordered the frost for this morning because it wasn’t me! A good reading-under-the-duvet day. - Michael

Happy "Microsoft trying to force CoPilot subs" day in the UK for all who celebrate. (They just pinged me my renewal notice with it carefully worded to sound like a compulsory general price increase). 1) Go to your account page 2) Hit cancel 3) Change sub back.

These sheep🐑 made by French artist Jean Luc Cornet from old telephone cords to highlight electronic waste are very cool.

Sex ’n’ drugs ’n’ rock and roll - that’s what you get with rock stars, right? There’s a ton of LGBT+ rock star romances to choose from in this fab Bookfunnel promo. Includes my fake boyfriend romp 'On the Rocks' plus over 70 more - check ’em all out here: books.bookfunnel.com/RockstarsinL...

I was waiting in for a delivery most of yesterday, but it finally turned up about 4pm so I dashed out for a walk - just as the evening sun lit up the snowy fells. No snow at our level, thank goodness!

You might not think there'd be much to look forward to this year but I managed to come up with various nice things for this month's Read Around the Rainbow post. 😊 fionaglass.wordpress.com/2025/01/31/r...

Oh, the irony... of China's new AI thingy stealing stuff from America's new AI thingy, which had already allegedly stolen stuff from nearly every creative on the planet... www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Last chance to check out the 'heartwarming/later in life' (ie, over 30) romance book promo on Bookfunnel - ends midnight so don't miss out! books.bookfunnel.com/heartwarming...

I'm slightly knocked sideways (in a good way!) to have my first ever art commission. A friend asked me to do a charcoal drawing of her beloved cat who passed away last year. I've never drawn animals before but have been working on it the last couple of days and so far I'm really pleased with it...

Great news – it’s JMS Books’ owner J M Snyder’s birthday and to celebrate, she’s knocking a whopping 50% off all e-books! The sale’s only on for today and tomorrow so grab your bargains now – or find my books here: www.jms-books.com/fiona-glass-... www.jms-books.com

Dodged some torrential sleety showers to go for another walk this afternoon and couldn't resist snapping this rather magical/ghostly tree covered with feathery lichen...

Weather not great - cold, wet and blustery with yet another storm rolling in - but I ventured out for a walk round the local streets and was rewarded with the first snowdrops! #springiscoming
