Death Stranding 2 is my first Kojima game, and my big takeaway so far is that this man really loves his allegories and double meanings. Not just names like "Heartman" either, but literally... like... everything, even the whole setup of BTs and all that

if you're wondering why your favorite AAA video game showcase kinda sucked this summer, this is exactly why

There's no way Junkrat doesn't get nerfed through the floor in Overwatch Stadium but until then, my god the total chaos is ridiculously fun

I spoke to Kojima on the perils of digital overload and overconnectivity, and how that shaped his perspective, as well as Death Stranding 2, for The Verge www.theverge.com/games/691570...

📺 Final Fantasy VI // Super NES // PVM-1354Q via component

the people working on the ground, doing the work that's earned xbox its redemption story over the last generation, deserve so much better than incompetent executives doing *four mass layoffs in a year and a half* because they don't know how to fucking do their jobs

I don't have a single favorite (terrible at choosing just one). But I recently played Expelled and it's definitely up there with The Good Ones store.steampowered.com/app/2963890/...

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is 10 years old today, and you can celebrate by appreciating the Archbishop of Ishgard's spectacular eyebrows

Has MK World's Free Roam encouraged you to vibe more in-game w/ friends? Does GameShare/Chat make it easier to play w/ friends (Mario Kart or anything else)? Do you have strong feelings about why you'd never do either of those things? I want to hear from you for a piece! #JournoRequest

There's a special place in hell for the crummy kind of soundtracks that sometimes come with limited edition games. You know, the ones that are "complete" but each track is barely a minute long, or are a random selection of three tracks from five or six different games. D:

I haven’t put as much work into a review in a while, but Death Stranding 2 really deserved the extra time and effort. I was one of the lower scores for the first, but DS2 is a masterpiece. Reads and shares appreciated. www.dbltap.com/reviews/deat...

From @solfleet.bsky.social for @rollingstone.com: #DeathStranding2OnTheBeach is a messy, ambitious sequel that lets creator Hideo Kojima go full-tilt into auteur mode — resulting in one of the best games of the generation. www.rollingstone.com/culture/rs-g...

I reviewed Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. Whereas the first game acted as a slightly navel gazey compilation of conceptual shower thoughts, this takes its retro prelude and delivers a sharper (downright oppressive at times) narrative that's worth the suffering. gizmodo.com/death-strand...

And people say the feather is useless

at least he didn't do something truly reckless like try to forgive student loans

My internet was out for most of yesterday and today and the provider sure did pick a Moment to get it all fixed

Unbelievably excited to share my exclusive interview with Yasumu Matsuno and Ivalice Chronicles Director Kazutoyo Maehiro - on script changes, why the themes of oppression still feel so relevant, Delita’s story, and if there’s a future for Tactics www.inverse.com/gaming/final...

People are taking CP2077 at #1 to mean that no one is buying game key cards, but that's not the full story. 1. This launch mirrors the Switch 1 launch and early years where late ports of third party games did not necessarily sell well. 2. CP2077 was the 3P technical showcase for Switch 2.

“I asked Grok” “I asked Chat GPT” Yeah well I asked the plants and the rocks and they said you’re a bitch

This sounds like a bit but I’m being serious: kids using chat gpt for their homework are denying themselves the invaluable experience of learning how to bullshit their way through a problem. You drink some caffeine the night before and figure it the fuck out. That’s a skill. You need it in life.

I nerded out on #JamesBond with IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak, who tells @rollingstone.com that #007FirstLight will have a younger Bond, but an extremely capable one: "It needed to be, not doing Robin, but doing Batman." www.rollingstone.com/culture/rs-g...

The Mario Odyssey-Donkey Kong Bananza similarities are evident, but this game is Tears of the Kingdom-coded and only an interview with Nintendo where they tell me "no lol" will convince me otherwise

Nintendo, I was already sold when you called DK Bananza's double jump "Chunk Jump." You didn't have to go so hard for the rest of the showcase too

I got a little silly again

Civilization 7 runs well in handheld mode on Switch 2 so far

This is so good

The Witcher 3 was one of the most impressive Switch ports a few years ago. CD Projekt Red has delivered something even more impressive with the Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. My thoughts so far on @rpgsite.net: www.rpgsite.net/feature/1773...

While I can respect the veteran Square team's desire to bring the near flawless original to modern platforms as faithfully as possible, it still feels like a missed opportunity not to add online multiplayer, roguelite/endless tower mode, or some other end game content while cutting War of the Lions.

Updated my Dune: Awakening review at @gamewatcher.com after +20 hours. Me not jumping off of a survival/crafting MMO after that time should be considered a huge win. Great use of the IP and unique vibes despite some rough edges. Read here: www.gamewatcher.com/reviews/dune...

Hey, I know that byline 👀

Had a scene to write. Was finding it hard. Procrastinated. Went for a walk. Didn’t write it. Realised, thinking about something else, that I wasn’t writing it because it was a bad idea. Had a better idea. Wrote that instead. This is what writing efficiently looks like, in the real world.
