There's a nonzero chance that USDA Foreign Ag Service can't deliver the March commodity reports required by law and idk if the commodity market is prepared

Gregg is a former Marine and Forest Service ranger. He's saved the lives of hikers dangling off a cliff or going through cardiac arrest, and he's bravely fought forest fires to save small rural towns. 100% of his salary is paid by WA state. Elon fired him. Share his story.

If you are clear-eyed, looking at America, and worried about democracy, the lesson is that half-measures and incrementalism are not going to cut it.

The guy who essentially just won the next chancellorship, Friedrich Merz, has been doing a press tour for the past week or so talking about how America under Trump can’t be trusted and promising to investigate Musk for meddling in the German election.

LOL

Suggested changes: The far-right AfD, backed by JD Vance and Elon Musk, was rejected by 80 percent of voters, exit polls suggest. Mainstream parties plan to form a coalition without them because voters don't want them to govern.

The host quotes that widely-circulated tweet about how firing JAGs is what you do if you don't want anybody telling you what you're doing is illegal and then Hegseth basically confirms that's why they did it

Which makes it all the more important for Hochul to remove him. Now. “America” isn’t entirely a thing. Our federalism still persists, even amidst … all this. State and local Dems can make it clear—to other Americans and foreigners—that they will still fight corruption risks like this.

You know who is good at rooting out fraud and ghost employees (which is not a thing) in government agencies?!? The inspectors general you fired!

I want to address a related point to the one I raised in this thread. A couple years ago the Times did a really strong package about the power of SpaceX. Not only is SpaceX. Not only is it now one if not the preemptive orbital delivery company in the world it also has a fleet of ...

Too simple to even try and cover his tracks.

Must be nice to fire people whose job you don't understand in the name of efficiency while posting nonsense non-stop

Listen to the clip just to hear the deeply unqualified Pete Hegseth sneeringly dismiss a woman who’s a Georgetown law professor, rudely calling her by her first name and saying he’s never heard of her.

Himes: "It just looks like an episode of The Sopranos. 'Give us your minerals or we're not gonna help you fight a bloody butcher.' I mean, is this really we want the greatest country in history to be known for -- some mafia thing? ... this president is standing with the bad guy"

Love you, @joyannreid.bsky.social. Can't wait to see what you do next.

Even Elon Musk's own AI knows what Musk is really doing.

Do you make less than $360,000 a year? Your taxes are about to go UP. And you have Trump, Musk, and the Republicans to thank for it.

there are so many things happening right now to federal employees that are illegal under current employment laws

PRAMS is the source of data for basically every effort to limit infant mortality and all the health dangers mothers face before and after birth. So a pretty big deal the Elon and Co decided to cancel the program.

Coming around to the view that a certain kind of narcissist simply needs Musk to be a genius rather than a fraud, because they want to believe there’s a hereditary Brahmin class of accomplished, beautiful minds—and that they’re a part of that class.

"We're asking for rare earth and oil, anything we can get." Guess whomst.

Why did nobody help her? That’s as terrifying as the brown shirts.

These are brown shirts, and this is Nazi behavior. We are not in a fight between right and left anymore. This is a fight between Americans and those who would bend the knee to a king. If you care about the soul of this country, we have to stand for each other.

‘Ukraine started the war’ is the new ‘The election was stolen’ Pay attention.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

It’s actually a moral imperative. If you can run for office, you must. Women only hold 25 percent of the 500,000 elected positions in America. Because we’re not at the table, we’re on the menu. emergeamerica.org

Interesting dilemma for anyone working in classified jobs. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

If you haven't realized it yet, Trump and MUSK are doing an open coup and purging the government of any guardrails as they assume authoritarian rule. But pronouns! Kamala is a woman! Woke!

At the Long Beach Tesla Takedown, lots of folks out here (I’d estimate probably 40-50 so far) and lots of support from cars driving by. Come out and join!

MAGA is aggressively turning their own base against them. Only been a month. This is an addition to the thousands of jobs they've cut.

New, from me: Unpacking the Friday night news: *The military purges have begun - why do they also include lawyers? *A Judge is allowing the dismantling of USAID to proceed. This reflects a pattern where Judges are ignoring the broader democratic risks. open.substack.com/pub/donmoyni...

“Operation Whirlwind” What’s Happening Now? In 2025, Operation Whirlwind was launched under Interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin to investigate alleged threats against employees of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Great question, @kenmartin.bsky.social @thedemocraticparty.bsky.social

Why isn't the Democratic party running with a supercut of this called They're Nazis?
