Donald Trump promised to let Elon Musk self-police his conflicts of interest. The result? Those investigating his companies have been fired. Cases against his companies have been dismissed. The corrupt self-dealing is staggering.

Musk took over the US government with graft and is using it—in combination with his space launch firm—to exploit an allied country that’s suffering under Russian invasion for its mineral rights. The scheme is so imperiously evil I feel like audiences wouldn’t find it believable in a Bond villain.

“US policy toward foreign interference is now being shaped by an entirely fabricated narrative. The infrastructure to combat foreign meddling took years to build, but its destruction has taken mere weeks. The consequences may reverberate for far longer.” www.lawfaremedia.org/article/the-...

The burning certainty of unbridled arrogance

NBC News Exclusive: The Trump admin is preparing to fire hundreds of high-level Department of Homeland Security employees this week as part of a move to rid the agency of people deemed to be misaligned with the admin's goals. www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...

seems like it is a big deal that the unifying ideology of the doge team is neo nazism

What these nihilistic vandals are doing to dismantle science & medicine—generations of expertise & public service & life improving benefits—is cultural revolution level national self harm. No foreign foe could inflict such brutal damage & senseless suffering on US so fast & effectively & unresisted.

What I don't get is how the country is all-but-evenly divided over Trump, yet all these consumer-facing corporations are acting like the entire cultural zeitgeist has shifted so dramatically in his favor that they have to run to catch up.

"Many outlets aren’t equipped to handle this moment because they’re still...clinging to traditional norms taught in journalism schools or traditional media institutions. They are not comfortable with breaking the rulebook, even in the face of clear and present fascism. " www.cjr.org/the_media_to...

Just endured every excruciating minute of this. With Trump sitting there, the kid wandering around, Musk gives a crash course in his theory of democracy that would embarrass a semi-literate stoner. These are fools in charge. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAuT...

Imagine if @aoc @sanders.senate.gov , every dem, SIMULTANEOUSLY held Town Halls where they allowed grant and contract recipients to explain to the country what it is they do and why it's important Invite all media. Including RW podcasters. @spaces Flood the zone Call it a Day Of Transparency

👀‼️ "On a visit to the U.S. military’s key European military hub in Stuttgart, Hegseth was booed by around two dozen people who live at the base in an apparent demonstration against the policies currently being implemented by the Trump administration."

The facts don't get as much traction as Elon's posts, but spending for migrant housing is dictated by law. Congress has the power of the purse, not some "special government employee." www.fema.gov/grants/shelt...

Musk's calling it a "judicial coup" because Judge Amy Berman Jackson entered a two-day administrative stay to consider the sudden firing of the Special Counsel who, by statute, has a 5-year term and can't be removed except for specified reasons, none of which were even mentioned by the notice.

“I am a combat veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and not a deranged Marxist as Elon is shouting.” “I don’t think Americans seem to understand what’s at stake here. This is a heist. It’s a hostile takeover by malicious actors of our entire government.” www.propublica.org/article/usai...

JD Vance - If you believe any of the multiple federal courts that have ruled against you so far are exceeding their statutory or Constitutional authority, your recourse is to appeal. You don’t get to rage-quit the Republic just because you are losing. That’s tyranny.

I just lost my job, along with most of my coworkers, due to the illegal grant freeze. I worked at an organization that -helped veterans who have lost a limb -Assisted elderly and disabled people -Helped hospitals better treat people who have lost limbs

A street artist in DC is putting up these posters all over the city. I’d love to get one.

Not a Parody. "The White House says Elon Musk will determine if there are conflicts of interest between his work reviewing federal spending and his companies." www.bloomberg.com/news/article...?

If citizens would like to peaceably protest outside US AID today.

Btw let me reinforce this again when it comes to this crew: EVERY ACCUSATION IS A CONFESSION.

1/ OK, Democratic members of Congress in the US Senate. It’s time for some tough love. I am aware your pollsters and consultants tell you things like “the American people want us to work together” and “ focus on prescription drug prices in the economy.”

Think about this and how Fox and the GOP would politicize an Army helicopter crashing into a commercial airplane days after a Black woman president tried to gut air safety & installed the least qualified man ever as Defense Secretary. THAT is the degree to which Dems should politicize this crash.

NEW: @laurenweberhp.bsky.social + I analyzed over 400 of RFK Jr.'s appearances since 2020 and found that he has disparaged vaccines in at least 114 appearances, falsely linked vax to autism in 36, and argued that White + Black people should have separate vaccination schedules wapo.st/4jwQS2R

CNN should be ashamed to have Scott Jennings on... running interference for Musk's salute. www.mediaite.com/tv/why-is-th...

Breaking News: Pete Hegseth’s former sister-in-law made a sworn statement to senators that the secretary of defense nominee was abusive toward his second wife.

“An ex-sister-in-law of Pete Hegseth’s submitted a sworn statement to senators on Tuesday that accused Mr. Hegseth…of being so “abusive” toward his second wife that she once hid in a closet from him and had a safe word to call for help” www.nytimes.com/2025/01/21/u...
