After the cold snaps, 19 above feels like a summer day. Shout out to all the Minnesotans walking around without coats today.

When I tell you Deeq is one of the best, I mean it. He’s close to his goal, help out if you can?

Thank you CM @elliottpayne.org

It’s such a pleasure to turn on MPR in the car and hear my awesome State Rep. Sam Sencer-Mura with a long interview about the importance of ethnic studies in the school curriculum.

First grader is reading a book about volcanoes. “It says here that to keep volcanoes dormant, the Aztecs fed them women.” Expectant and confused pause while he processes. “Yup” (pause) “probably didn’t work.”

Happy Valentine's!

Breaking: A federal judge sides with Washington, Oregon, and Minnesota and has just blocked Trump's anti-trans EO banning care under the age of 19 via a TRO. This is the second federal judge in a row to conclude that the President's EO is likely unconstitutional.

I am proud every day to be represented by Jason Chavez. The homophobic remarks directed at him today are unacceptable. Jason, your Ward has your back. 🏳️‍🌈

Some people have phone a friend- my spouse just invoked “call in the history major” (me) when the conversation about colonization and combatants of WWI got out of his depth during the first grader’s bathtime

Costco cashiers flinch when they see me coming with these carts, because every pair has to be counted by hand. But having a warm pair of gloves for every neighbor who comes through the door or we meet on outreach? Priceless.

The @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social gave out all our warm gloves during the last cold snap- but good news: Costco had gloves on markdown so I was able to stock up for distro.

Here’s a list of things your church can do to grow deeper into being a community of solidarity:

We've removed the paywall on this guide to supporting local orgs and mutual aid groups in the Twin Cities:

Hey Minnesotans, reminding you that Minnesota's Earned Sick and Safe Time includes time off to care for your kids if weather closes their school or care facility

🚨BREAKING🚨 Leonard Peltier Granted Executive Clemency After 50 years of unjust incarceration and the tireless efforts of intergenerational grassroots organizing and advocacy, our elder and relative Leonard Peltier has been granted executive clemency.

100% vouch for someone who is helping people who aren't getting into shelters or warming spaces, please help if you can

91 years later and the only difference is that now the city uses bulldozers to destroy people’s shelters.

I’m consistently proud to be represented by Jason Chavez, and his ability to blend empathy with policy is a big part of the reason why. Read the 🧵 please!

10am-2pm tomorrow! ❤️

Had to read a passage of @lollardfish.bsky.social ‘s Oathbreakers out loud tonight to my spouse, because I was so flummoxed by the story of Leo III’s eyes and tongue mysteriously healing. Side note, violently blinding your rivals seems to have been distressingly common in this period.

So, @acatwithnews.bsky.social, @jwhendricks.bsky.social & I are doing our best to place a few pitches about the truly overwhelming amount of incredible mutual aid that we’ve come across in LA today, but we’re not having much luck so look out for our pieces over at Words About Work over the next week

Part of what allow me to put so many hours in at the SD is that my kid comes with. He opens boxes, puts batteries in flashlights, and makes hygiene kits. And sometimes he goofs off or reads. It’s up to him. And all this is possible because my comrades welcome him and make him part of the team.

This. So much this.
