Also, for anyone looking for something free to read, my piece on BECKY/THE WRATH OF BECKY just opened up yesterday to all subscribers (I can’t believe how relevant these movies are years later). Again, any and all subs/shares are greatly appreciated: thehorrorchick.substack.com/p/indie-horr...

Rewatching Becky and Wrath of Becky for inspiration. For what? Depends on who is asking.

That one White Lotus scene with the three white women all complimenting one another but the cattiness and tension rises with each smile and the compliments are now digs but everyone is too prideful to admit that any of them actually have feelings is so so good.

Maybe corny but it was helpful for me to hear Henry Rollins saying "this is not time to be dismayed, this is punk rock time, this is what Joe Strummer trained you for... You can be thunderous in your own life, to the eight people around you. That rubs off... Goodness is viral"

Finally registered for AWP this year. Need to be around writers and it’s finally in LA so why not? Also might feel out continuing my education…

The Flight Attendant has very strong V/Johnny vibes. And I love a figment of a man in a traumatized women’s head. Need more of this trope.

the cast of "House" (ハウス) [1977]

Also Taylor Dearden does an amazing job with Mel. My favorite character and it’s lovely to see she has so much screen time

constantly in aw of the PITT. The format, the performances, the pacing—they really don’t mind giving time for those really hard moments—yes it’s chaotic, yes it’s wrenching, but they manage to touch on SO much of the human condition that the validation of these nuances is nearly healing.

some visuals for my current wip: The Badwater Report, a narrative horror podcast set in Death Valley. #scriptsky #audiodrama

Japanese artist Kumi Yamashita winds a single black thread around a grid of nails on a wooden board to create intricate portraits #womensart

I think I just have a soft spot for fictional pop icons. Last year was so good for me with Smile 2 and Trap. It’s just so fun on the production side.

Confession. I listen to the Smile 2 OST regularly. Fictional pop singer Skye Riley has a grip on me.

Lol this sign "Do not bring food into the library Food residue will attract mice Mice will acquire knowledge in the library Get into university Then replace you" 😂

pursuing a writing career in current year certainly brings about a lot of Emotions™️

Rewatched Dinner in America today only to realize two days ago there was a screening with Adam Rehmeier, Emily Skeggs and Kyle Gallner insanely close to me—

a horror movie but you’re being chased through a cornfield by someone who wants to know if you’ve written anything they might have heard of

Every day I feel more and more like Cuno Disco Elysium

I got my notes back yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bernie Sanders: "They will use the enormous media operations they own to deflect attention away from the impact of their policies while they entertain us to death."

a time was had 💚 #thesubstance #horror

Earth pregnant

Still dealing with ID theft issues and Verizon needing a police report before they can dispute the 9 lines someone has in my name is my joker moment.

THE SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW IS UNION MADE! Shout out to Kendrick Lamar, and all the performers and behind the scenes workers that made this go off without a hitch!

We desperately needed to witness resistance on the big screen and Kendrick and his team didn’t waste a second on that stage.

“Oh, did a sportsball happen?” I whisper smugly from my vantage point on a distant cliff, the sounds of celebration in the village far below just barely audible over the lonely wind whipping my tattered cloak

say what you want about the industrial sports scene, but you can’t doubt the importance of that halftime show. Entertainment will never be pointless especially when artists are conducting themselves in such a pointed way.

You'll never slice yourself into a small enough shape for them to love you. Aim the blade outward.

Kendrick doing more than Congressional Dems at this point.

Live updates from the Philly police scanner if y'all would like to read an Epic Saga this evening.

film still #43 Irving’s dream. Filming pov. #severance

Demi Moore during her #CriticsChoiceAwards speech: “I am so grateful, not just for my performance, but that you have highlighted this film, this genre. Normally, horror films are overlooked and not seen for the profundity that they can hold.”

Ep. 4’s rewrite is done! I have to celebrate every step of the way or I’ll go insane. (4/10 done, current project page count is 120)

*me living in a bubble with no social interaction* why didn’t anyone tell me how good PEACEMAKER is?

I bet doom scroll meant something way cooler in the middle ages.

YOUR first draft doesn’t need to be perfect. but mine does

I am happy to say the "Followers only" reply setting is getting implemented. We're also adding a way to set default reply settings If you want your posts to default to "Followers only," that'll become an option

This new Lady Gaga song is bringing me back—just when we needed her the most 😭

The editing in this was so good? Also a romcom with a focus on female anger 💓 yes pleaseeee #filmsky

Queer Russian filmmaker Dima Barch (@dimabarch.bsky.social) pens a personal essay about why horror always has been and always will be political.

Here's a thread about how trans people can approach remaining informed of the news in a way that prioritizes pragmatism, self-care, and building resistance. It's based on what I'm doing personally. So, fyi, I'm more anxious than usual, but holding up substantially.
