I'm a second generation Indian. My father is first generation Indian who was born in India. My grandfather was born before the birth of the Secular and Democratic country of India. My Grandpa was born in The British Raj. Grandpa died an Indian but he wasn't 'Indian' when he was born.

People don't realize it but currently we are in the 4th or 5th generation Indians. By definition an Indian is someone who is a citizen of India. The country of India including the name was formed in 1947. The word 'India' did not exist before 1947. QED
