This will forever be my favourite photo of my cat taken the day after I first bought him home. The impish face still makes regular appearances, this is his character captured on film. He will be 5 soon & when I asked hi if he was ever going to stop being a pain in the a**e I swear I heard a 'Nope'

On International Women's Day I would like to doff a cap to my fave female authors. i'm a committed bibliophile so will possibly expand as I overcome my fear that new literature will never match the classics. A stance which is clearly ridiculous: Iris Murdoch Margaret Atwood Hilary Mantel #Booksky

The quaint idea PIP helps with costs of disability is ludicrous. Most in receipt will be those of the lowest income & with everything rising in price the last few years it is used to cover basic costs, housing, food, bills. When I cannot pay my rent what are they going to do with me? Ah, the AD bill

A brilliant Banksy.

I am pretty tired of this world, its cruelties, its bigotries, its demonising of the poor, the oppressed, the disabled, its capitalism, its power to those who can afford to buy it, its disregard for earth & other species. I'm glad I'm not young anymore growing up in this environment.

A beacon of Hope shining out from the Heart of Avalon. Taken tonight at sunset.

This is awful. Trump orders immediate closure of all US federal diversity offices Staff placed on paid administrative leave as president repeals executive orders promoting LGBTQ equality www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Keir Starmer is increasingly sounding like a hectoring sixth form prefect and I don't like it.

Elif Shafak is a wonderful, magical author & I love her. Every word counts and all of a sudden a sentence so profound or beautiful takes my breath away. #BookSky

One man had a dream of unity, justice & equality. Another dreams of being seen as something he’s not. On this day, let’s honor the legacy of MLK Jr.—a leader who built bridges, not walls. Choose light over noise, hope over chaos. They can’t stop the dream when we stand together.

The current crisis over the rising cost of disability benefits was entirely foreseeable & predictable after decades of underfunding healthcare, social care & support services and now it's the ill & disabled who will pay the price. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

An early contender for headline of the year…

They're evolving.

My cat always makes a certain noise when he sees from our window the cat opposite in his window. He doesn't with the dog which leads me to wonder how cats know they are cats & dogs know they are dogs when they see another of their species without the benefit of scent.

I've had an hours sleep and am feeling slightly hysterical #MultipleSclerosis

The cat is currently wandering around meowing piteously because I have dared to have an idle hour in bed with tea & laptop. He has been fed, naturally, & I'm not sure what he thinks is going to happen any differently than it usually does if I get up.

Its my birthday next week & I have, unusually, ordered myself a gift with some of the money I saved in last years reding saving scheme. I love this style of sculpture & really want one of 'Melancholy' but further savings needed for that. i think I am going to call him Michael.

There is undoubtedly more behind than in front of me so my resolve for 2025 is to be more in the present, worry less, read more, appreciate more, spend more time in nature, reflect more & love more.

I have a very interactive relationship with my cat but I think he is taking it too far when he expects me to join in with the scratching post activity or holds his head up & I have to do the head/nose bumps & rubs while he puts in no effort at all 🐈

Just finished my final book of 2024. I saw a savings idea for readers at beginning of year of putting away 1p per page read. I know I read a lot but my total of £480.98 suggests I need to put the book down and get out a bit more! #BookSky

Throughout 2024, the Guardian aimed to report on every woman allegedly killed by a man. Here are the 80 women whose deaths have led to a man being charged. Let us say their names. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/ng-i...

That's it, I've dismantled christmas & put it back in the cupboard for another year. The cat will relish having the temptation to mess with the lights taken away and the cessation of anguished cries of 'Noooo'.

The cat is annoying me mightily this am by waking me numerous times between 4am - 8am eventually forcing me to take notice by sweeping almost everything off bedside table, indecisiveness over in/out when trying to have a peaceful cup of tea, biting my head & constant yelling when I was in the shower

I feel I may have to binge rewatch both series of #WolfHall over the holidays if the usual terrible fare is served up & also to combat my Mark Rylance portrayal withdrawal symptoms.

Masterly #WolfHall I don't think I've breathed for the last twenty minutes.
