Still filling my box with some emerger patterns. This one, which has been successful for me, comes from Inland Empire Fly Fishing Club's "Flies of the Northwest" one of my go to books for inspiration. #flytying #flyfishing

Snow day = fly tying day... as if I need an excuse. Knocked out some Beatis and PMD emergers, size 22 to 14. #flytying #flyfishing

So good to be home again. Micro Midge fills the net again! This big boy came with some extra gear I was able to free him from. #flytying #flyfishing

Got my 82 year-old father-in-law to slip on some waders, lace up a pair of boots and hike/fish for about a mile up the Gunnison from the North Fork Confluence. Not a great day fish-wise (🦨) but yeah... a great day! 😎 #flyfishing

Been away from my fly tying desk. Visiting family in Colorado and jonesing to sling some flies. Never fished in Colorado, so if anyone has any suggestions for the Lower Gunnison River area I'd be happy to hear any suggestions. #flyfishing #flytying

Thanks @flickingfeathers.bsky.social keep posting your instructional tying videos. Love em. Got your cased caddis pupa in the box and looking forward to giving it a try. #flytying

Getting a little taste of spring here in Central Oregon 🏌‍♂️.

Today's river shenanigans. #flytying #flyfishing

Going through my wife's craft closet I found some twine. Thought it would make interesting body material. Add some colored markers... and voila! Will they fish... 🤷‍♂️. #flytying #flyfishing

youtube.com/watch?v=nSFR... A friend sent me this link for the Madison Buzzer. I tied a few, of course substituting for materials I don't have. Successful in getting fish to the net. #flytying #flyfishing

The before and after. This was a "Frankenstein" fly. Just started tying on various materials with no pattern in mind... just doing. #flytying

Today's sights at the river. #flytying #flyfishing

Watched "Scotsbob" on Youtube's "Trout Catcher" channel tie up a "Spider Buzzer." I gave it a go, substituting for materials I didn't have. Now, let's see how it fishes. #flytying #flyfishing

Fly box restock. Lost a bunch of flies to logs last outing. I did add a new scud pattern to the box that I'm anxious to try out. #flytying #flyfishing

Another fly for the spring/summer box. Mercer's Poxyback Western Green Drake nymph. I tied this on a #12 3XL Firehole 839 hook. #flytying #flyfishing

Messing around with some color combinations with pheasant feathers. I kinda liked the ostrich here collars. #flytying #flyfishing

Afternoon tying is done, a couple of Rainbow Warriors and Half Hogs... couldn't figure out the hopper part. Anyways, happy Martini Friday, cheers everyone. 🍸 #flytying #flyfishing

Another fly for my spring and summer boxes. This is a #12 Green Drake emerger. A pattern I found in Flies of the Northwest by the Inland Empire Fly Fishing Club. #flytying #flyfishing

My attempts to represent the caddis fly I saw on the riverbank yesterday. Also, a way to experiment with ring neck pheasant feathers. A work in progress... #flytying #flyfishing

Putting some of those new ring neck pheasant feathers to use. Thanks @oleflytyer.bsky.social for the guidence. #flytying #flyfishing

Don't forget to check river banks for active insect activity. Not always just midges in the winter. Snowed on us all day. But found this guy crawling around on the river bank. Madam-X and CDC Caddis flies brought fish to net today. #flyfishing #flytying

Got some new stuff in. Love the pheasant skin. All the coloration and hues. Now I just have to learn how to utilize... all... those... feathers! #flytying #flyfishing

One of those epic days today. This one really filled the net. These were the hot flies that moved a lot (for me) of fish today. #flyfishing #flytying

Thinking of spring bugs 🧐

Always a good day when the mountain is part of it.

Tiny fly doing its thing. #flyfishingoregon #flytyingjunkie
