pet peeve: When talking about greek words, archaic is from arkhaikos, from the root arkhō "I see" When talking about arabic words, ابتداء is from the root b-d-ʔ (or the even worse format √bdʔ) "relates to beginning, and origins". Why not badaʔa "he begins"? No one says arkh- "related to starting"
