Just went live to talk about what is happening, what we can do, and what to expect this week: www.instagram.com/reel/DForuR_...

This from @aoc.bsky.social. The targeting of migrants for detention & deportation, without due process, is an outrage in itself. But it’s also about profiteering. “I want folks at home to look at which members of congress are invested in private prison companies…& look at the votes on this bill.”

Hiking in the McInnis Canyons area always brings fun rock formations and colors. Often times, I feel that life is telling me to slow down and observe the finer aspects. Here are some ripples from old water and rock layers that resemble bacon.

STAY POSITIVE!

Wouldn’t it be funny if this was the most LIKED photo on Bluesky?

Just a reminder that the US Electoral College is insane and less than a dozen states shouldn't be responsible for deciding elections in all 50.

Ripples everywhere this morning

Made some Preppy Kitchen brioche. This recipe turns out some light, airy, deliciousness. My loaves may not be very pretty but they were tasty. 🍞

Recently enjoyed a magnificent drive through the Bookcliffs in Utah. So glad the sun came out!

What a colorful world ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 Diving into a world of vibrant hues and underwater wonders at the Aquarium! 🌈🐠✨

Really enjoying watching the colors change in the desert throughout the year. Grasses become like a sea of yellow. Roxy always enjoys herself on our hikes.

These Western pond turtles want you to shellebrate yourself this week, because you’re turtlely awesome! 💚🐢💚 📷 Thank you to staff member Kayla for melting our hearts with this photo!

Hiked up Hawkeye trail in Mack, CO today. At a distance, desert may not seem to be colorful. The colors pop everywhere the closer you get. For example, rocks can have so many lichen colors.

💙🦦Aww shucks! We’re otterly thankful to all of you this past year. If possible, please con-sea-der a donation to support our conservation work and education programs: tiltify.com/monterey-bay...

Pollock Bench trail, Fruita, CO I just love the desert hiking and geology there. It’s one of those places where you see the different time periods in the hillsides.

Baking bread at 4500ft above sea level is a new challenge for me. Are there any tips folks can offer? So far I’ve noticed cheesecakes and breads need longer time. Some reading Ive done explain a little more flour in some cases while more moisture in others. 🍞

Baked BA’s sour cream and chive rolls again for Thanksgiving. Easy family favorite. 🍞

Made BA’s buttermilk english muffins for the first time. This recipe hits! The buttermilk provides a slight tangy flavor. I still have work to do to develop the crannies. We’ll get there. www.bonappetit.com/recipe/bas-b... 🍞

Shell-ebrate with us as our snack-gobbling queen, Ivy, turns 12 this month! 🎉🦦💞 Ivy steals hearts with her playful antics and otterly charming personality. Happy Birthday, Ivy, you marvelous mustelid!

But first coffee… ☕ it’s a sarcastic fringehead kinda day.  📷: Staffer Candace Reid-Rose
