Concessions to private equity executives from Rachel Reeves Maybe disabled people need to club together and buy her some concert tickets? www.ft.com/content/2a51...

👀 “More than a third of council meetings have already been cancelled this month, where vitally important decisions are made for our county, and two of the five members of ‘DOGE for Kent’ have quit after less than a week. Reform needs to get a grip and bring an end to this unprecedented chaos.”

Food for thought. Did you know that the failure to share relevant information with foster carers as detailed in this inquest is very common? Now add to that the fact there is no legal duty of care owed to foster carers. Imagine that. You can legally be killed or seriously injured in your own home

This is the right outcome. There is no place for this type of language and blatant discrimination in local government committees. He would not act in the best interests of children in care with his views. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Nat West banking app is down. Anyone else having problems?

Rapid scheduled disassembly this time. Next level chucking your teddies out of your pram stuff. Anyone got shares in Butterkist?

"Comments by a Reform councillor in Cambridgeshire that children in care are 'evil' are unacceptable. Children in care shouldn't have to hear this. It's discrimination and needs to be challenged." - @katharinesj.bsky.social, our Chief Exec.

I’d like the parent/carers/politicians/councillors/teachers of non disabled or neurodivergent kids could spend a week in our shoes. Their loved one being so badly let down it’s causing harm. Things would be different.

This is beyond despicable. Reform councillor calls children in care "downright evil". www.huntspost.co.uk/news/2521469...

Our members contact us on a regular basis with concerns about delays obtaining passports for the children in their care. We're supporting the Care Leavers Association in their work with government departments on this issue. Please complete the survey below. Thanks! docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Spot on thread from Sue. We have an attendance crisis and more young people are not attending schools. If the school’s themselves don’t reflect on what they are doing and the impact of this then it will only get worse. Sadly many schools have moved to a simplistic view of behaviour management

Hi, I'm currently looking into the impact of the PIP cuts on carers for the Big Issue: I'm interested in speaking to anyone receives PIP *and* Carer's Allowance, and who is potentially at risk from the new "four point rule" please repost for circulation

'There are so many hidden costs to raising a disabled child' - BBC News "If you take him to a body of water, he will want to go in that. If we go to a soft play, he will pull on hair. The isolation is the hardest thing. (Thoughts of most carers!) 💔 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

This is how much caring for a disabled child really costs bigissue.com/opinion/real-c… And they’re still cutting the benefits that barely keep our families afloat! #BenefitCutswww.bigissue.com/opinion/real...d/

Is the real? Are they aware that local authorities hold highly confidential data on family court cases and children in care?

📚 No child should miss school because their family can't afford school meals or a clean uniform. But across the UK, it's happening every day. #FreeSchoolMealsForAll is one way to alleviate the burden of childhood poverty. www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/nationa... @nochildbehinduk.bsky.social

Anyone saying ‘DEI’ here in the UK is telling you very directly where their hate is imported from.

It was sobering to catch up with Debbie from St Ann's Advice Centre last week. We discussed the devasting impact that disability benefit cuts would have on our community. Hearing the harrowing stories of disabled service users underlined why these cuts must be opposed.

🏠 Hundreds of children in care are being placed in illegal, unregistered homes with no oversight, no regulation and no guarantee of safety. 🚫 This is a clear breach of their rights and must end. 📢 Learn more about the issue and email your MP to demand change. bit.ly/4mJ8NF1 #NoIllegalHomes

If you are a reasonable person and still supporting the Labour Party at this point, it's really hard to understand why. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Liz Truss is in Hungary. And she tweeted this without a shred of apparent irony. It's her friends and family I feel sorry for.
