Donald Trump's immigration policies, whether modifying birthright citizenship or conducting mass deportations, are not moderate policies. These extreme agenda items should be rebuked by Democrats. We need a strong moderate opposition.

President Trump’s federal hiring freeze has forced VA hospitals around the nation to stop hiring workers. Veterans need healthcare and the VA needs people to meet the demand. They deserve better.

The Trump administration directs federal health agencies to pause communications. Bird flu is part of that.

The assault on NIH is a test for how the national media covers the Trump admin: Trump is shutting down medical research! That is easy to communicate. Will they treat it as a 5 alarm fire in a way that forces the government to respond, or will they downplay & caveat it?

Trump's tax policy benefits one group: the rich. 💰 We need tax policies that work for WORKING PEOPLE. @americanprogress.bsky.social www.americanprogress.org/article/prog...

The reported security protection removal comes despite warnings from the Biden's administration about ongoing threats from Iran.

#MarkCuban is right. I have two college boys and they didn't care about this election. Last time they lived under #Trump was 4 years ago. That's nearly a quarter of their life. They prefer to watch the world in 10 second clips. This is how you reach them.

I have and will continue to. But you know why I say it here ? Because @bsky.app is 30m strong and growing quickly. The collective wisdom and influence of users here is far greater than any individual democrat. I can't say it enough. Bluesky can be the influence that can counter RW media.

🚨Trump’s hiring freeze is hitting the Dept of Veterans Affairs now.  My sources are sharing memos that have gone out. Job offers to new employees that have a start date after Feb 8 are now being rescinded.

my colleagues @statnews.com & I are continuing to report on changes to NIH and other federal agencies if you are at an event/study section etc that is canceled or changed do reach out you can reach me here, email (anil{dot}oza{at}statnews.com) or signal (aniloza.16)

Right now, Utah Republicans are gearing up to end collective bargaining for public employees and not enough people are talking about it. Spread the word and call your legislator—tell them to vote no on this bill. www.sltrib.com/news/educati...

Trump is deporting the guy who mows your lawn but releasing the guy who bashed a police officer’s head in back to your community.

Pamela Hemphill, who served 60 days in prison for her role in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, said she did not want a pardon. “Absolutely not,” Hemphill said. “It’s an insult to the Capitol Police.” nyti.ms/4hmt67M

The first Trump Administration imposed nearly $80 billion dollars in new taxes on Americans via tariffs, and the long-run trade-off, according to the Tax Foundation, will be a decline of 0.2% in G.D.P. and a loss of roughly 142,000 jobs.

"Since inauguration, the rapid response teams have proactively sent out volunteers as early as 4AM to scout locations where federal agents have staged operations in the past.." boltsmag.org/chicago-immi...

Never attended law school and will defer to those who did. But it seems problematic for Trump that a Reagan-appointed judge calls his citizenship order “blatantly unconstitutional.” apnews.com/article/birt...

On his orders, his henchmen murdered my former colleague and chopped up his body with a bone saw.

This is as I suspected. Just no way Vance & Bondi would be freelancing in their public proclamations that you can't pardon violent offenders. So that was the provisional plan until Trump switched gears "F--k it: Release 'em all": Why Trump embraced broad Jan. 6 pardons www.axios.com/2025/01/22/t...

It’s never good when you make an insanely stupid argument to a smart federal judge who thinks your argument is so insanely stupid that he questions your ethics.

EARLY PUSHBACK TO TRUMP!

Many Jan. 6 Rioters Pardoned by Trump Attacked Police, Videos Show. Here are some of the most egregious acts of violence that took place during the Capitol attack, as seen in videos of convicted parties now pardoned by Trump. (By Alan Feuer and Dmitriy Khavin) www.nytimes.com/2025/01/23/u...

Instead of going through each January 6th defendant's case one-by-one, Trump actually said "f**k it" and released them all?!

Check out my latest, I decided to make this available to everyone because it's too important for people not to hear. 9 mins if you can spare harrydunn.substack.com/p/donald-tru...

Newark congresswoman says she's pressing for info on an ICE raid in her district, saying it happened without a warrant + swept up citizens including a military vet.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social: It's a particularly ironic twist that one of the main consequences of this ongoing bird flu outbreak so far has been massive egg shortages and skyrocketing egg prices.

Exhausted yet? It’s been three full days since Donald Trump returned to the Presidency and he’s already drowning us in outrages. Susan B. Glasser breaks down the Week One distractions, late-night devilry, executive overreach, and the Administration’s infighting.

"As of today, it looks as though Donald Trump is in the process of freezing federally-funded cancer research in the United States," says @chrislhayes.bsky.social

Had an awesome time chatting with Jon Stewart & @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social talking about how to fight the dumpster fire. Gear up. It’s time to brawl.

I don’t actually think Trump wants to govern. He ran for president to stay out of jail, not because he cares about anyone but himself. Governing is hard and he will spend as much time as possible golfing in Florida. Keep fighting. He’s a lame duck loser.

Trump Rolls DEI Back to 1965 & Exec Order Ending Birthright Citizenship Hits a Wall youtu.be/B2oa2IpKgn8

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH** * Currently paused by Executive Order ** Grant reviews now all canceled www.kcur.org/news/2025-01...

So when all was said and done, the only country that opened it's prisons and sent crazy murderous criminals to prey upon innocent American citizens, was us.

BIG Jackie Alemany scoop in @washingtonpost.com: An aide to Speaker Johnson advised against subpoena of star Jan. 6 witness Cassidy Hutchinson over concerns about public exposure of “sexual texts” from lawmakers. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Trump entered the White House in 2017 expecting a monarchy. Eight years later, critics feared his return would bring an autocracy. But early signs point to a transactional autocracy. @michaelscherer.bsky.social and my latest, on the emerging technoligarchy. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Past is prelude: “Trump’s announcement to pull U.S. funding from the WHO is only the most outlandish and conspicuous outcome of a forty-year effort to marginalize international cooperation on global health.”

Today, President Trump rescinded Executive Order 14087 signed by former President Biden in October 2022. What did Executive Order 14087 do? It lowered drug costs for Americans on Medicare and Medicaid—working class Americans. This only benefits big pharma.

If only we were merely living in an SNL skit
