Very touched by the gift from the Quimper-Limerick twinning committee on the occasion of their visit last week & glad that under Laurence Garric’s leadership a group of Limerick citizens are now their dedicated interlocutors to write a new chatper of the 44 year-old friendship between the 2 cities

Il y a un agresseur : la Russie de Poutine. Il y a un agressé : le peuple ukrainien. Face à cela et pour notre sécurité collective, une nécessité : l’Europe, maintenant. Le temps des mots est révolu, passons aux actes.

Many thanks to St Michael’s National School, Limerick for inviting me to introduce their 5th & 6th class pupils to the #SarsfieldHomecoming Project. 1 hour of stimulating exchanges with the children! Fantastic to see so much enthusiasm for history among young people! Support us 👇 gofund.me/636e9bf5

Thanks to a few dedicated volunteers the Limerick Pétanque Club has now officially formed as an association and hopes to affiliate soon with the Irish Pétanque Association. More good news are in the pipeline. In the meantime, see below poster to find out how to join the club 👇

Absolutely captivated by Anna Abney (Madeline Dewhurst)’s reading and conversation with Ella Daly today as part of this year’s Limerick Literary Festival. Her latest novel, “The Prisoner of Measham Hall”, is set in part during the siege of Limerick of 1690 and Patrick Sarsfield features in it. 1/2

A pleasure to welcome Delphine Minoui to Limerick today on behalf of the French embassy as part of the 2025 @limericklitfest.bsky.social. A real privilege to hear her deeply moving account of how a group of young Syrians resisted against the Assad regime through their love of literature.

Where Anna Abney’s novel set during the siege of Limerick will be discussed! Not to be missed…

Delphine Minoui, award-winning Franco-Iranian journalist and author whose work focuses on the Middle East will be at the @limericklitfest.bsky.social on Saturday 22 February! An event supported by the Embassy of France in Ireland. Book  your tickets on limerickliteraryfestival.com/participants...

Starting here a series of portraits of the #SarsfieldHomecoming Project team members with Stéphanie Ratz, in charge of urbanism and heritage in the administration of the Huy City Council, who has been instrumental since 2021 in sending me historical documents and providing us access to the site… 1/3

As we’re working on an exciting programme of events for this year’s edition of our festival (12 & 13 July), we’re delighted to announce that Heavey Technology will be one of our official sponsors again this year (as every year since 2021)! Many thanks for your loyal support Heavey Technology! 🙏🏻 💚

Earlier this week, I was delighted to attend the annual UL Foundation Donor Scholarship ceremony and to meet Aicha, one of the students who was awarded a grant co-funded by the UL Foundation and the French Embassy to enable future teachers like Aicha to train for 2 weeks at the CAVILAM in Vichy 🇫🇷👏👏

Delighted to see Jazmín Chiodi’s work and talent recognised with the French government award of Knight in the Order of Arts & Letters. Jazmín notably co-founded Tipperary Dance and the Tipperary International Dance Festival with choreographer Alexandre Iseli, which she co-directed for 12 years.

Two great events on Thursday 20 & Saturday 22 February around the work of award-winning French-Iranian author and journalist Delphine Minoui! Delphine Minoui’s visit to Limerick as part of the Limerick Literary Festival is proudly supported by the French Embassy in Ireland. @celineplace.bsky.social
